I’m posting thirst traps and dog pics? This must be serious. Well, over the past few months, I've been restoring and hand-painting cabinets and dressers. Now I’m making it my full-time job.

Originally, this started as an attempt to furnish my new place with antique pieces, seeing how much they cost, and then going “well I bet I could do that myself!” Now we’re here 3 months later, making homemade milk paint in the kitchen and utilizing the exact techniques from the 17th & 18th century that made me fawn over those antiques in the first place. Each piece is unique and feels truly worn by time, but with a strange dash of modern flare. All I know is: I’m having fun.

So I’m opening up shop, posting my wares for sale, and taking commissions. Please feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to have one of these puppies made for you. My dog, Cairo, is not included, but he will obsessively supervise every single build, just like he did this photo shoot.

I was heartbroken after my trip to Iceland a few years ago to find that I had lost one particular roll of film. I remember being so excited just to get back to the states and drop it off, but when I got all my photos back, it seemed it was missing from the final count. It became “the lost roll.”

I found that roll last week.

On this chilly day, I started a long drive at the crack of dawn so that I could hopefully catch the Northern Lights about six hours north. I had a panoramic camera that I had not used before, of course neglecting to learn how to prior.

There were these beautiful horses that I pulled over for. Curious enough to trot over and check me out, they allowed me to get close, and I remember trying not to spook them with joyous hoots and hollers of how cool these photos looked. My California hands were basically frozen trying to make everything perfect. I was real giddy.

I travel solo mostly, and the most heartbreaking part of this trip was just how isolating and fleeting these moments were. I stood there alone with these horses, and for years after, I thought I would never be able to share this moment with anyone—like it never existed. This has been a constant for me: not being able to nudge someone and say, “Holy shit, are you seeing this right now?”

I’m just happy I can share these with you now.

Interestingly enough, that same day, I crashed head-on with another car in the middle of a snowstorm, totaling my rental car. Bonus video at the end here of my car having to be lifted by crane off the bridge. I didn’t have to experience this alone, however: shoutout to a friendly Icelandic police officer, Gretar, who introduced me to lobster pizza. Over the last few months as Marketing Creative Director at @teddyfresh, I’ve been able to work with some of the most talented creatives on shoots that I look at with so much pride. I don’t usually get very personal on here, but one year ago today you changed my life. I was in a pretty dark place at the time and one of the only things that I looked forward to was getting a pup of my own someday. I got a notification from the shelter with your picture(second one here) and knew that if you could be so happy with a rope as a leash, I had to meet you. I rushed over to the shelter the next morning, but sadly someone had committed to adopt you. But after nothing short of a miracle and some begging(thanks mom), the staff gave me the chance to adopt you, but since you were in surgery, I had to make the choice without meeting you. Of course, yes. I always tell you this story to get you to fall asleep and actually stop zooming around for a second but also because it makes me happy too. I can’t imagine a world without you and you’ve made me so much more patient and thankful for everything I come across. You make every experience so wonderful and put every day into perspective when I walk through the door and see your face light up. I love you Cairo, you’re my best friend. Happy Birthday. Hope you liked the In-N-Out Burger as much as I do. by @kazzyw
