The older I get, the more I realize that life is about priorities, not balance.

If my faith is right, everything else has a foundation. If my family is right, success actually means something. Everything after that—business, money, influence, goals—is strategy.

Strategy changes. Principles don't.

That's what I'm building my life on.

Faith first. Family always. Everything else is just strategy.

Before God asked anything from you, He placed something within you.

I think we spend so much time searching externally for what we need…

More opportunities.
More resources.
More validation.
More approval.

But what if the first responsibility is learning how to steward what’s already been given?

Your gifts aren’t accidental.
Your ideas aren’t random.
Your abilities weren’t misplaced.

God creates with intention.

A seed doesn’t need to become something else — it needs the right environment, development, and time to become what was already inside of it.

The same applies to us.

Build what’s in your hands.
Develop what’s been placed in you.
Steward it well.

Purpose isn’t something we chase.

Sometimes it’s something we uncover.

This photo probably looks simple.

My son’s basketball practice.
A folding chair.
A book open on scaling and impossible goals.

But moments like this are where futures actually get built.

Most people think growth happens during huge breakthroughs.

In reality, it usually happens quietly: Studying when nobody’s watching.
Learning between responsibilities.
Using small moments intentionally.
Choosing growth even when life is busy.

One line from this book stood out to me:

“Set a goal so big you think it’s impossible.”

Because impossible goals force different thinking.
Different standards.
Different habits.
Different focus.

That’s something I’ve been learning deeply: The size of the goal changes the kind of person you have to become.

So while my son is developing on the court, I’m developing too.

That’s leadership.
That’s fatherhood.
That’s entrepreneurship.

“Most brands don’t have a product problem. They have a standards problem.”

That thought’s been sitting with me heavily lately.

Building lignumhoney.com has taught me that premium isn’t just about aesthetics, pricing, or packaging.

It’s about what you refuse to compromise on.

Your standards.
Your discipline.
Your discernment.

John 16:13 talks about the Spirit of truth guiding us into all truth — and I believe that includes business decisions too.

Not every opportunity is alignment.
Not every fast move is wisdom.
Not every open door is meant for you.

Some of the best decisions I’ve made came from slowing down, praying first, and protecting the vision instead of forcing growth.

Because real luxury feels intentional.

And success without peace is expensive.

There’s something about sitting still long enough to hear the waves that reminds you how small your fears really are.

Not every season feels clear.
Not every prayer gets answered overnight.
Not every path makes sense while you’re walking it.

But peace doesn’t come from having control.
It comes from knowing Who does.

Lately I’ve been learning that trust sounds quieter than fear.
Less panic.
Less striving.
Less needing to prove everything.

Just faith.
Consistency.
Obedience.
And gratitude for the strength to keep going.

The waves keep crashing.
God keeps providing.

There’s something powerful about being in rooms where growth is normal.

Not just conversations about money or business — but conversations about faith, family, standards, legacy, discipline, and becoming better men.

Iron sharpens iron.
And the older I get, the more I realize the people around you shape the level you stay at… or the level you rise to.

Grateful for nights like this at Compton Ave. with a group of @ibc.social men committed to building, leading, and sharpening one another.

More rooms like this.
More intentional conversations.
More men pushing each other toward purpose instead of distraction.
