Big life changes ahead prompt me to reflect on my motorsports journey. 💭 These memories remind me how far I've come, and the defining moments (and people) that have helped shape my path. 🧭 I've experienced some serious highs and lows along the way, and those experiences help me navigate life by my north star. 🌟There are lots of things that I still don't know...but I do know what I want to do with the rest of my life! ❤️‍🔥 Serve, empower, and engage with people through motorsports. Time to set out on an epic new adventure with my favorite adventure buddies, my husband and our dog. 💏🐾 Audio by Eddie Pinero from his podcast, Your World Within. 🎶💭 by @kbanderson78
So thankful for the quality of life the heart meds have given back to her for the moment. 💊❤️‍🩹🐶🐾 She has her first echocardiogram scheduled soon to help us monitor the progression of her heart failure. by @kbanderson78
While it's sad to see the state of the engine that came with the car, it's not all bad. ✌️ Sometimes a fresh beginning is just what's needed, and this replacement engine is mint. ✨️ It seems well maintained and squeaky clean inside. There's never a guarantee it will hold up to abuse on-track, but this is a great start. by @kbanderson78
We're in the process of tearing down the 2.5L that came out of my NC MX-5 and the plot keeps thickening. 😅 This is not what you want to see in the oil pan. by @kbanderson78
It's that time of the year again! 🍃 The trees are turning and the hydrangeas are blooming like crazy. 💐 These still look great after a week. We'll see how long the cut flowers last! by @kbanderson78
Enjoying the view of Mt. Rainier. 🤩 by @kbanderson78
After a few days on heart failure meds she's doing much better. ❤️‍🩹🥹 We find out more in the coming weeks, but our goal is to buy her peace and comfort to enjoy the last of her golden years. by @kbanderson78
Our little dog is headed to the vet for an emergency visit this morning because she hasn't been breathing well. 🥹 Keep your fingers crossed it's something treatable and the vet can help get her some relief. ❤️‍🩹 by @kbanderson78
Race weekends don’t happen without volunteers. There are a LOT of people who give up their weekends to make sure the rest of us can go racing — corner workers, grid, timing & scoring, tech, registration, safety, stewards, and all the people behind the scenes. We were at The Ridge for IRDC’s 2026 Tribute to the Volunteers weekend, and it seemed like a pretty good time to stop and say thank you. Our latest blog is a look back at the weekend — the racing, the progress, some of the challenges, and the people who made it all happen. This one’s for the volunteers. There's something satisfying about seeing a recycled engine come alive again for a new purpose. ✨️ This 2.5L engine will get stage 2 cams, a Fluidampr pulley, and a few odds and ends before it goes into the NC. by @kbanderson78
When we bought this car, the engine bay was in pieces with stuff missing. 🧩 We decided to acquire the remaining parts and put it together to see how it ran. It idled rough but smoothed out with throttle input. 🤔 This is what we found when we took off the valve cover. 😶 Totally fixable! These engines are so cheap that we decided to buy another one to get the car going and will set this one aside for shenanigans later. 🤠 by @kbanderson78
