Been seeing a lot of posts like this on my feed, and of course it’s @logoarchive inspiring the community again with works of so many talented logo designers. Have been following for awhile and always such a treat to see good design, made me look back at a few of the logo icons I treasure the most - some for how they look, and others for the story behind them. BINI Logo Refresh Have been interested in giving the BINI logo a refresh because I always felt that there was still room for improvement with the overall concept in terms of simplifying the look and focusing on the flower icon. My main concern with the current design is that it feels like you have to focus on the “B” or the flower on the “I” and it might be better to condense this focal point into the “B”. I also wanted to increase thickness of the letterforms to create a more solid wordmark overall. Clients sometimes ask me if the ‘font’ will be a part of the logo I provide them, and I realized that a lot of people think that only the symbol is the logo, but this isn’t the case. The wordmark always goes hand in hand when designing a logo’s icon - it should be made to supplement the mark and make it stronger as a whole. Without a proper wordmark, an icon is a faceless symbol. #kc_logos #logodesign #logo by @kc_logos

kc-logos.com Ever since making my 90 Logos & 10 Industries post, it made me reflect on all the work I’ve done. I realized that I never got to update my website from 2019 when it all started, so I’m happy to finally have it revamped! Will continue to work on this, and looking to add different pages for more materials, templates, and other logo-related products! :) #kc_logos #logodesign #website Home Never realized how plain and boring my original home page was, have learned a lot more about guiding the user and got to add a feature that showcases different logo icons I’ve made for clients. Logos The biggest improvement on the site - from presenting a mix of passion projects with the work I’ve been able to do then, to building a portfolio of clients that span multiple industries. Process The process has stayed the same for the most part, but I’ve made a lot of adjustments and refinements through the years. Building these into different packages, and finding ways to make it easier for my clients to understand. Contact A sleeker contact form, straight to the point, with an easy way into my socials. Project Have always wanted to include more details about my projects - lockups, about, design thinking, industry, and mockups to showcase sample applications. Phases A better look into my process phases, straight to the point with more details on timelines and what’s expected. This has been a more common occurence now - clients inquiring with a logo already made through AI, and the problem is always the same. 20,000 Followers Hit 20k today, and wanted to commemorate it with a post! Philippine Logos Refreshed Always enjoyed doing these types of passion projects, and wanted to play around with some logos that I feel could use a revamp. People seem to enjoy the educational content as well, so used the captions for this one to explain a bit behind the thinking 🤔 What are your thoughts on these? Any logos out there that need fixing? #kc_logos #logodesign #logo BIR I felt that the text here was too tight and closed in by the border, needed a bit more breathing room. The eagle’s features also couldn’t really be seen - with the line on the beak and the extra details on the eye not being necessary to communicate what it is. The sunrays also feel like an afterthought above the head, so using negative space fills the mark up a lot better, and moving around the details makes it feel more intentional. Opted to reduce the colors as well, because I think keeping it clean with one primary color makes it look a lot more authoritative. Mercury Drug This is an iconic mark, but the amount of detail on Mercury makes it very hard to use in smaller scale. Instead, I wanted to focus on his staff - since the brand has strongly established itself through the years, it still connects to the reputation it has built. The staff is clean, easy to scale, and does not sacrifice equity. Tropical Hut The gradient, typography style, and white outline all contribute to making the Tropical Hut logo feel old. I like the fun vibe it gives, so maybe refreshing it with a more modern cursive typeface along with a cleaner representation of the sun above the “T” provided an opportunity for an icon while preserving the overall look and feel. Nature’s Spring From my understanding, the triangular shapes on the bottom of the wordmark are waves, and I thought - why not just have it within the wordmark itself? Saw an opportunity to apply that triangular silhouette on the tail of the “S” and changing up the colors gives it that depth that the original mark had. SkyFlakes I don’t really have any problems with the SkyFlakes logo, I just wanted to play around with a different typeface (just realized here how funky their original one was) and simplifying it a bit by removing th by @kc_logos

Bad Feedback causes a Bad Logo. From my experience, if I don’t get the right information out of my clients, then I end up creating something that completely misses the mark. “How much for just a simple logo?” I get this question every now and then and it makes me laugh every time because all my logos are simple. I make it that way so that it survives different applications, and it doesn’t make the process any easier. Simple logos, when done right, are much harder to execute. My clients often ask me if I’ll provide them with a colored logo because I use black and white too much on my feed 😂 I do add colors to my works, but only after the primary silhouette of the mark is strong enough to stand alone. Creating a mark in black against a white background assures this standard, and forces a logo to work good as a concept before anything else. #kc_logos #logodesign #logo #logotipos by @kc_logos
