🎨 Meet @kckartwork , a talented local artist who is painting her place in the Anthem community!

Kyra’s colorful murals can be seen at local favorites including @homelandbrewco and @backninegolf_anthem.

She also teaches art part time at Ridgeline Academy, where she encourages students to explore their creativity, build confidence and look for opportunities to share their talents.

Kyra believes children often notice details adults miss, and teaching has helped her see art in an entirely new way. Her hope is that when people see her murals around town, they feel inspired to create something too.

Read Kyra’s full story in the September issue of Anthem Living Magazine.

This local artist spotlight is proudly sponsored by Ridgeline Academy, an A-rated K–12 charter school where every student is known, challenged and encouraged to grow. taken in Anthem, Arizona by @kckartwork

Took this idea from @gigisketchs and made a spooky hallway with this seasons favorite spooky malevolent spirit— the Wendigo.

The second Inktober Story— starting with a recently adopted rescue pup on board the shaky sub — watching as a life buoy gets tossed to the confused individual that was aboard the smashed boat.

Finished the first Inktober column! My own personal challenge with @inktober was to create a story for every column. 📖

The story goes as follows:

The young Ogre realized his mistake as soon as he picked up the relic from the mysterious Mystic Shop… immediately he shrank in size. There was an assortment of strange books and miniatures in the shop. The fairies who see everything, followed the ogre and had remembered the old ram back at the farm where the Ogre had thrown a tomato right at his head while passing by. They all thought this was a perfect opportunity for Karma to play out and created a portal for the ram to pass through down the abandoned alleyway with all of the stinky garbage. The ogre had no choice but to attempt to get back to the mystic shop — it’s one thing to be a giant ogre and feared…. It’s a whole other reality when you are a shrunken ogre…

Day 9: Ram

The ram was furious still about the ogre hitting him in the face with a tomato— the fairies had opened a portal from the farmlands and karma began to play out beautifully. 🐏

Day 8: Stinky

The street had been neglected for awhile, as the stinky garbage piled up. No one used this alleyway anymore— for all who traveled down it experienced misfortune.

The Storm Troopers decided to go hang with their cats and have some burgers and beer in the vacant sector as they watched the chaos ensue outside.

The space was rarely used and filled with old parts.

Day 7: Panic

The artist panicked when she realized she was off a day — just like the ogre panicked when he shrunk in size after touching the relic.

Day 6: Ogre

The ogre knew that trouble began as soon as he touched the relic — he had a bad feeling about it from the start. His size is what made him scary and powerful— without that, how was he supposed to navigate the world?
