The change of seasons meant it was finally time to empty all of my outdoor planters. As sad as that was, there was a silver lining—it was officially time for fall plants and a little Halloween magic! 🎃🍂

So I grabbed my broom and flew over to @sunnysidegardensmn for some inspiration and supplies…and they did not disappoint! 🧹✨

The hardest part? Making my selections! There were SO many good options that I definitely picked up and put back more than a few things before finally making up my mind. But in the end, it all came together!

With bright pumpkins, colorful mums, ornamental kale, and just a dash of spooky whimsy, my planters are officially ready to welcome all the neighborhood ghouls and boys on the 31st! 👻🎃

What better way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend than with a shopping spree at @sunnysidegardensmn to pick up some new perennials!?

I needed some more Helene von Stein stachys to fill in some garden gaps. I also had a couple other “holes” in a shady spot in the garden that needed some brightness so I went for a few ‘Liberty’ hostas. The stschys provides such great texture while the hostas have the most beautiful yellow variegation.

Nevermind the fact that I (obviously) left with more than I went for (hello, cleome, ivy, and bridal veil) but when the plants are this gorgeous, it’s impossible not to “treat yourself”! taken in Linden Hills by @kcmayer

Over the hills (Linden Hills, that is) and through the woods to @sunnysidegardensmn I went!

My front step planters were looking a little too dull for spring, and with the sunshine calling, it felt like the perfect excuse for a flower-filled outing. I wandered through rows of blooms and greenery, completely spoiled for choice and brimming with inspiration.

After much deliberation, I settled on a cheerful palette of sunny yellows and warm oranges. Pansies, ranunculus, lobularia, ivy, and dusty miller now bring fresh life and a welcoming burst of color to our front door — just the kind of spring magic to carry us over to summer planting.

@sunnysidegardensmn has such a beautiful bounty of cool weather plants right now…I may have to go back for more! taken in Sunnyside Gardens by @kcmayer

This tree is bringing all the retro Christmas vibes.

I styled our dining room tree with bright colors, sparkling glass ornaments, and plenty of tinsel for a classic Shiny Brite look. It’s a mix of true vintage finds from a local shop and gorgeous reproductions from HomeGoods.

The topper was a happy accident—a bright pink glass ornament flipped upside down to make the *perfect* finial topper. I finished the whole look with peppermint stripe bows, red ticking stripe skirting, and lots of cheerful red and white details to tie in the rest of my red and white decor.

Meet our upstairs (and third) tree— which I affectionately call “The Cardinal Tree”.

Styled in classic red and green with touches of white, silver, apple green, and deep reds, it’s filled with berries (my forever favorite at Christmastime) and velvety red cardinals. The wreath tree skirt was a love-at-first-sight find this year and could not fit the motif any more perfectly.

More than décor, this tree feels like home—Christmases past and a sweet nod to my beloved grandmother, who adores cardinals and traditional Christmas themes. taken in Linden Hills by @kcmayer
