POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Snagged these 2 recently. Really stoked on these because @joevegastattoo has always been one of my favorites. I dont know how long Joe has been tattooing at this point, but I know 25 years ago when I was seeing him in magazines, I thought he was the coolest. Not just his tattoos, his look, everything, he was what cool looked like to me. As a matter of fact, he still looks cooler than the average man. Haha Also, what a time to be tattooing on the Sunset Strip! Joe still puts out top notch work that blows your mind. Dont be a lame, follow a real one. taken in North Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

I hate posting pictures of my tattoos. All my pictures suck, but my tattoos are lived in. Im not the guy thats lotioning my tattoos so they look like works of art. While i have, in my opinion, some of the best work out there on me, its not my intention to be this walking work of art. The stories that go along with every tattoo i have are what i do this for. I can tell you every place and every conversation had during just about every tattoo. My best friends and the most geniune people ive met in the world have come out of the tattoo world. Tattooing doesnt suck, just realign yourself with the motherfuckers holding true to what you believe. They still exist. It's still some people lives and not a hobby. It still has magic, and i still have fun every time i step in a tattoo shop that looks like a tattoo shop.

This is a 20+ year old tattoo off of one of my favorite sheets of flash by John Reed. @annettelarulez took one look at this and called out whose design this was. That's Annette little Fleur-de-lis above it. If anyone has a set of John Reed breakfast flash, im looking.... taken in Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

Thanks @kcmocollector ! for sending me these rubbings from Gus and Maud Wagner’s gravestones out in Kansas. Such a rad thing to get in the mail.

Also really cool that Ron @hellonwheels1967 (sorry if i miss pronounced your name!) took the time to track down their graves and make the effort to get proper headstones made for them. Really cool stuff, especially with how easily little pieces of tattoo history can disappear forever.

Ron and Andy both know a ton about the Wagners and early tattoo history. Thanks to both of them for sharing some of that history with me. Hopefully I got it right, and if I didn’t, let me know!

Thanks again Andy and Ron.

New store for all things tattoo. I still have a few prints to move out of my collection. This store will be randomly filled as I move things around. Business cards, prints, originals, shirts, trinkets, etc. There are a few original gems on there that i will let go of for the right price. That right price is listed, im not haggling on those big ticket items. Outside of those items, If you see anything on there that you may want to trade for, im always willing to consider, just hit my DM.

Im very much into business cards right now because of how little space they take up. If you have cards to trade or sell, let me know.

On the hunt for some grail items. Original sketches, flash or paintings. Sailor Jerry, Grimm, Lieber, Marquand, Jensen, Rogers, Dave Lum, Frank Lee, etc. If you have a lead, hit me up. taken in Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

Original Gerry Matthews from the Lyle Tuttle Collection. These were acquired directly from his widow thru Lyle in the 1980's. I can only assume this is an unfinished sheet, but maybe not. Probably dating late 50's early 60's. Matthews was a well known machine builder as well. His flash is flawless. Some of my favorite. From what has been uncovered, which is not a lot, he seemingly started his career in Michigan but ended up in California. There's little documentation, but stories say he worked on the pike in the early days and around the state. I imagine you were chasing the money back then. taken in Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

Here she is...the mother load of 90's history. All original, you can even see the ink bleed thru the page. Definitely some @excel__awr_msk originals and if im not mistaken, there are some @adrianatak signatures in there as well. If anyone has the printed sets of these, if they were ever produced, id love to see them! taken in North Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

On today's episode of Look What the Fuck I Found, i give you a 2001 painting from @stashone. Stash has been a staple at @freddycorbintattoos @templetattoo13 for as long as i can rememeber. When i came across these Bay Area pieces this was the only one I couldnt figure out the signature. Once Jason Kundell verified it for me and said Stash, i can read it plain as day. I dont know if it's true that so many artists hate their old work, but these are gems to me. This era shaped my views on tattooing and made me want more. taken in North Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector

Life's been real good lately. Guess the universe gave back. I happened upon a cache of 90's Bay Area gold. ArtWorkRebels, NewSkool and other notable tattooers. Ill share them in the coming weeks. The rare thing, they are all originals. Today blessed me with an original @jason_kundell_awr from 1999. This was the era of tattooing that drew me in and it was all happening in the bay area. I would say by 95, middle school, I knew i would be heavily tattooed. My parents didnt know what to do when I started coming home with biker and tattoo mags from Barnes and Noble, gas stations or the occasional record store. Pulling this outta the box gave me chills today. I almost have the feeling I did when I fell in love with this shit. These designs were different than the tattoos I had seen in Georgia or kansas, I knew I wanted more and ive never looked back. The 2nd gem that arrived today and kind of aligned with the sheet was Everything That Burned, @jeffpdoes new book. Stoked to add that AWR history to the shelves. Beautiful book, go get it. taken in North Kansas City, Missouri by @kcmocollector
