First time hike for us today at Virginia Lakes in the Hoover Wilderness. We took the Green Creek Trail out and back today covering 5 miles and almost 1000’ elev. It’s a lovely trail that takes you by 5 lakes and you could easily incorporate a couple more and continue up towards the ridge. It was quite cold and windy today, so we skipped the ridge, kept it simple, ate sandwiches along an unmarked lake and watched the dogs šŸ• enjoy themselves. We’re loving all the 🄾 and getting our glutes, quads, heart & lungs a good workout. Highly recommend this one!! #10,000steps taken in Virginia Lakes, Eastern Sierra by @kcockerill

I’m in my happy place in the Eastern Sierras soaking up the sun and beauty of nature and being in the outdoors. Did a hike around Walker lake and took the Bloody Canyon trail up towards lower Sardine Lake, but didn’t go the distance today. 5.5 miles with 1200’ elevation change—8000’ to 9200’. Adjusting to hiking at Altitude slowly. Jasper loved roaming the trail with Tucker and Pepper, living his best life. He’s a mountain dog for sure! Great to hang with longtime friend Cindy and her hubby Brian! taken in Walker Lake by @kcockerill

Mahalo to all who helped make my 32nd year walking the fairways & talking golf happen. It’s extra special ending my ā€œworkā€ year in 🌺 Hawaii, one of my favorite states to visit. Congratulations to @jeeno.atthaya for winning your 11th tournament @lottechampionship It was a blast watching you work your magic all week long. Thanks to my husband @dannydann12 for the constant love and support and getting me accurate yardages and clubs…and to Allen my fun loving chauffeur with a constant smile & story to tell. Working a golf telecast is a crazy, wonderful way to make a living. We’re a traveling circus watching a year long athletic road show and it’s the production team, crew and volunteers who make it happen. Loads of fun and I get paid as well!! Also fun to see relatives who live on the Island & who came out to see what we do. Can’t wait to get back home to see our boy Jasper who’s been whooping it up @dogpiledogs & @beckybiniek Next stop….hiking in the sierras! BTW, I still don’t know what makes up a K-Burger!?! taken in Oahu, Hawaii by @kcockerill

Third round action today @lottechampionship featuring final group pairing of Rolex Rank #2 @jeeno.atthaya who has 10 wins on Tour alongside @polly.mack who will be playing in the final group and with Jeeno for the first time. Polly averages 280yards off the tee and is 4th in distance; however, she’s missed more cuts than she’s made and is 97 in CME points, needing to stay in the top 100 for full LPGA status. Should be interesting to see how they both work their way around Hoakalei today and who makes a move among the final few groups. Our 3 week trip to Europe is complete, finishing with a half day and night spent in Haarlem in a cute little inn with uneven floors and low beamed ceilings. Opted for Haarlem versus an Amsterdam airport hotel so that we could soak in just a little more of the Netherlands šŸ‡³šŸ‡± We loved exploring Amsterdam and working the Solheim Cup, touring Belgium via train and then luxuriating in Tuscany and Florence. Thankful to have my partner in crime to cover the territory with and who plans a lot of the museum and restaurant details. Loved visiting this part of Europe and am forever thankful to see new places and take in all that different cultures have to offer. Happy to provide tips and advice to anyone visiting these spots in the near future. Looking forward to getting home and seeing our boy Jasper who looks like he’s been loving life @dogpiledogs taken in Haarlem, Netherlands by @kcockerill

More art and nice walking in Firenze visiting the Pitti Palace, which is basically the amazing Palatine gallery full of notable artwork inside the Palace. So, you get to see how the Italian elite, namely Medicis, lived and decorated their rather large home. We then walked the included Boboli Gardens which is large and hilly with great views and multiple trails. Art+Garden=perfect! taken in Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, Florence Italy by @kcockerill

A return visit to Firenze—2 years ago we climbed the Duomo and visited the Academia to see David. This time we battled the crowds at the Uffizi Gallery to see the great works of Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Caravaggio among others…..had to wrestle thru throngs of visitors to catch a glimpse of these works. Not ideal and we went early in the day. Found a smaller, quiet museum that was an old church now showing Marino Marini sculptures and paintings. Lovely! We also recommend going inside the Santa Croce Basilica. It’s beautiful and also happens to be the burial place of noted Italians Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Dante. Florence is stunning but it’s overrun with tourists like us. Btw, we are eating very well!! #pasta #foccacia #gelato #capoucino #brunello taken in Florence, Italy by @kcockerill

Assisi—Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi, Cathedral of San Rufino, Basilica de Santa Chiara, Temple of Minerva and Rocca Maggiore (one of 2 castles) are the main places we visited. Enjoyed a lovely meal at Restaurante La Fortezza which fueled the 5+ miles we walked and 42 flights we climbed. Many make the pilgrimage to Assisi to visit and pray to St. Francis at his home and burial place. I like that he’s the patron saint of animals and the environment—he’s famous for his profound love of creation and all living things. He’s also associated with peace, the poor and the marginalized. Noble and saint worthy. Highly recommended a visit to Assisi in Umbria. taken in Assisi, Italy by @kcockerill

Hard to summarize in detail what makes the @thesolheimcup so amazing but it comes down to the high energy created by showcasing Womens golf on the biggest stage & having thousands of emotional, supportive, invested fans onsite to revel in it all. Love the outfits, the songs and the fact a large percentage of spectators arrived on bicycle. Amazing! Shoutout to all the crew from @skysportsgolf & @golfchannel who worked hard behind the scenes and on the call for over 32 hours of coverage. Personally, I walked at least 25 miles in 3 days and I loved almost every step! This was my 17th Solheim to work and it’s always been one of my favorites to cover. Thanks to @dannydann12 who was an official team helper and my forever helperšŸ’•Love that family and friends attended and were throughly entertained. Proud of @solheimcupusa šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø for giving their best. It’s so tough to win on foreign soil! Congrats to @solheimcupeuro for a big Sunday and the win. All in all, a win for Womens golf!! taken in Cromvoirt by @kcockerill
