You've got Modern Family Alliance (@mfa_kc) and @PeachyBirths to thank 🍑 Every year they curate one of the most beloved corners of Pride, and they don't clock out when the festival ends. They show up for LGBTQ+ families all year long. Now they're bringing that same energy to Becoming Parents: Navigating the Journey to LGBTQ+ Family! Saturday 9/26, 12-4pm at Our Spot KC. A panel discussion, three breakout sessions, plus vendors and resource tables all built to support your journey to parenthood, whatever it looks like. Kansas City has lost a true icon and someone who holds a special place in the heart and history of KC Pride.

Melinda brought joy, laughter, and an unmistakable presence to our city for decades. We were privileged to honor Melinda with the title of Grand Marshal of the 2025 KC Pride Parade, commemorating her 50th year performing alongside the 50th anniversary of KC Pride.

Her legacy lives in the people she inspired, the doors she helped open, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her husband, Kirk, and all of Melinda’s family and friends.

Thank you, Melinda, for being part of our Pride, our history, and our city. Your legacy will live on. by @kcpride1
