INTERVENSION Out now on BANDCAMP and all platforms El productor y picotero colombiano Bclip regresa junto a KCR1 el nuevo proyecto electrónico del músico e investigador venezolano Magú con “Intervension”, un track profundamente politico que marca el regreso a los releases de Paria Records. (EN) More than a track, “Intervension” asserts its own language from the very first seconds. A Choroní drum, drawn from the Afro-Venezuelan tradition, opens the piece before giving way to a dense production where massive basslines and organic percussion meet influences from gqom, dembow, bubbling and contemporary bass music. Rather than piling up references, Bclip and KCR1 deconstruct their respective heritages to forge a third path: traditional rhythms are never mere embellishment, they become the very heart of the track, standing on equal terms with the machines. This is music born on the fringes that doesn’t need to be translated, validated or reinterpreted to exist. Even the title carries a message the deliberately altered spelling, “Intervension” with an ‘S’, becomes a symbol of the tensions, contradictions and divisions running through Latin American societies today, while never compromising its effectiveness on the dancefloor. Released on Paria Records, the track arrives as Colombia and Venezuela face the aftermath of the recent earthquakes. What rebuilds a region is its own people, not what arrives from outside with an agenda. On Bandcamp, all proceeds go to relief efforts in both countries proof that the avant-garde can emerge from the heart of the periphery, without ever seeking validation from an outside gaze. “Intervension” is a brand-new collaboration between Colombian producer @bclipsound and @kcr1sound, the new electronic project from Venezuelan musician and researcher @maguvagamundo. More than just a track, this collaboration marks both Bclip’s major comeback under his own name, the return of @pariarecords with brand-new material, and the official launch of the KCR1 project, which could quickly establish itself as one of the most distinctive acts on the Latin American electronic scene.
