2019-2025. Some of the logotypes and fonts I’ve done throughout the years. How I came up with the words? Some are from Japanese four-character idiom, from work, or from YouTube. taken in Tokyo, Japan by @kctype

40. Another Decade::Another Chapter

I want to thank everybody for being part of my life over the last 40 years. I’m grateful for the connections I’ve made, and practicing gratitude has become my mantra. Here’s to another 40 years. (Hopefully not to my grave.)

この40年間、支えてくれたすべての皆さんに心から感謝しています。たくさんの出会いやご縁に恵まれ、「感謝」を忘れずに生きることが僕の生き方になりました。これからの40年も、どうぞよろしくお願いします。 taken in Tokyo, Japan by @kctype

Kante (Edge for German)
“Reduziert auf das Wesentliche” (Reduced to the essential)
Font Homework.
First typeface for this year. It’s been a busy, productive 6 months. Hitting 40, troubleshooting PC version for DS2, personal obligations, caught 3 viruses in one month, creative burnout, rewiring my mindset. In life, it’s important to never go against the flow. Always let it run and be part of the flow. I found peace by not getting attached to small things and be mindful about the bigger picture. taken in Tokyo, Japan by @kctype

Turned 39 today. (Technically not for another 4 hours.) ㊗️🎂

I want to thank everybody especially my gf, my family and friends who constantly supported me all of these on and off, the good, the bad and the ugly of me.
I hope this marks my first day to really start thinking more about my future and how to be more mindful and present. There are no shortcuts in life. The part of the journey to envision and deliver from start to finish is what I’ve always strived for. Here’s to many years to come. 🙏🙏🙏 taken in Tokyo, Japan by @kctype

Y2K
Font Homework.
First typeface for this year. I decided to take a stab at cybercore style aesthetic. It’s been 25 years so I’d thought it was appropriate to bring back the 2000s funk. Medium and italic version. taken in Tokyo, Japan by @kctype

I’ve been busy with studio work just crunching almost the whole year and also been freelancing on the side. Hopefully I’ll be able to develop more personal work next year.
