POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I was tagged to do a stack of my favorite color by @spiralingoverfiction ! It was so fun to go through my shelves for all of the green that I could find. 💚

I’ve read all of these, except for the few standing straight up! 🙂 by @kd.g.reads

“Everything is poison with the proper dose. Even you.”

3.75 stars - Only because it took me until about 45% to really get into the story but once I was in it, I was locked in for that last 55%! I’m really excited to start the next book in the series, and actually had Vasmora delivered today! 🤣

Also, yay for patio season! I love being able to sit out with a nice glass of wine and a book. 🫶🏻 by @kd.g.reads

“Do ghosts bide their time? Can a haunting return like a cancer? She considers the idea of a patient spirit, satiated for more than a decade after driving one woman to her death. A wraith sleeping in the shadows, laughing maniacally as Mallory tried for years to assemble a ruse of normalcy. Waiting for her time to run out. For it to be her turn. Perhaps Shore was never going to offer answers about her mother. Maybe Shore was always going to be her own reckoning.“

4.75 stars - She Haunts Me Still is the PERFECT blend of dark academia and horror romance. It’s really just the perfect read for the ber months, and will leave you feeling haunted. by @kd.g.reads

“She hated encounters with changelings and not because of the general Psy revulsion to their open emotionalism. It seemed to her that they knew. Somehow they could sense that she wasn’t like the others, that she was flawed.”

3 stars - Slave to Sensation was a good little paranormal romance murder mystery palette cleanser that’s easy to read and understand. The concept of psy kind of made me think of The Host by Stephanie Meyer and Dark Visions by L.J. Smith. by @kd.g.reads

“‘The circle,’ the charm went on inexorably, ‘seems to be composed of several elements. A pirate captain. A liveship for the taking. A burned town. A captive boy, family to the ship. Those were the elements of the first cycle. And now, what do we have here? A pirate captain. A liveship for the taking. A captive boy, family to the ship. And a burned town.’”

5 stars - It’s not a surprise that another Hobb book is 5 stars, I enjoy being in the character’s heads so much and love everything about the RoTE. I can’t wait to read Ship of Destiny in November. 🫶🏻 by @kd.g.reads

Recent acquisitions. 🤩

After hearing so many good things about Die For Me and She Haunts Me Still and seeing both on so many fall tbrs, I didn’t miss the chance to snag them while going book shopping yesterday. I loved Innamorata, and wanted to get my hands on one of the pretty printed edge copies so that I can have a matching set when Necromantica releases next year. I haven’t heard much about The Sea Hides It’s Dead, but I’m a big fan of oceanic horror so that was an easy grab for me.

What books have you bought lately? 👀 by @kd.g.reads

“‘Now I quite enjoy hearing you call me beloved in your own language.’ Amara kisses him, and he smooths his thumb against her cheek. ‘Sometimes, I think about when our child is older, when we won’t be able to be like this anymore, because we will have to pretend, even in the house, that I’m nothing to you. And when that happens, you can still tell me you love me every time you say my name’”

5 stars - Apparently I love to be emotionally traumatized, because The House With The Golden Door had me so STRESSED but I could not stop listening to it. The entire time, you’re hoping Amara does not get caught up in her relationship while also wanting her to experience some kind of happiness. My heart hurts for her so much, she just goes from one bit of struggle to another while stealing little fleeting moments of happiness.

Now I have to try my best to wait patiently for The Temple of Fortuna audiobook to become available in my country. 🙃 by @kd.g.reads

“These are the words of the Old Kitty Mother herself: The traveler is a death god, as has not been seen since the old age. None may stand against him.”

5 stars - Blacktail is a revenge fantasy (could also go in the horror category depending on how you see it) following a wolf dog named Blacktail from his early puppy days to his end.

I really enjoyed this book! It is a shorter one, and I managed to finish it in a day. I found it incredibly hard to put down, it’s a story that you want to just keep reading. Blacktail was extremely unique as it is all told through the eyes of animals. It can be extremely graphic with animal cruelty and animal death, so I would avoid it if you can’t handle that sort of stuff. It is all necessary to the novel plot point as it does pertain to the evilness of mankind. I think if you enjoyed Between Two Fires, you may enjoy this one as well. by @kd.g.reads

55% through Mad Ship! I love taking my time with Robin Hobb’s books, and I’m trying to take this one even slower so I can read the final book during my trip to Mexico later this year.

Also, how cute is this bag from @shopwildeshadows !? by @kd.g.reads

I love getting my hands on signed editions of books! I found this one the other day, and was shocked considering how popular The Knave and The Moon release was.

Do you collect signed editions? Do you go out of your way to purchase them? by @kd.g.reads
