recently in my peer mediation class, we’ve been talking about the effects of labels. everyone puts labels on each other subconsciously while only seeing their 10%. after getting to know someone you’ll realize their 90% is so much more. we judge and place these labels mindlessly without considering a persons struggles and how it really affects them. when people first see me, they might think i’m unserious or ignorant. knowing me would truly reveal that i’m a caring, empathetic, and understanding person. i will gladly be a person that listens and lets someone talk about anything that’s bothering them. no one deserves to be holding in any of their struggles and should have someone to express their emotions to. these negative, surface level labels only come from a person’s 10% without them even getting a chance to express their 90%. before we judge someone, we need to realize there is so much more to them beneath the surface. it’s hard to hate someone when you know their story 🤟. #rethinklabels by @kdnkai
