What better to cap off the year with, than one of the best sunsets I've ever watched/shot. Shot this one sitting by myself (with sore ribs) in an isolated little cove on a beach in Sayulita Mexico. To some, it doesn't get much better than this injured or not. It might sound ungrateful, but I was really not stoked on having to take it easy on my vacation that was supposed to have me surfing and adventuring full force. I rely on constant activity/competition and that most often than not requires a healthy body.

One thing I've been working on this past year is to just embrace the situation. There is a staggering amount of things to be thankful of if you find yourself in a place like this at peace, relatively safe ;) and surrounded by God's creation.

Over the next year when things seem to have taken a dip, consider how many things are still going right. I'm just getting over this rib stuff and it felt like I missed out on the last month of the year sports wise, but it also gave me some time to slow down and rethink what 2024 is going to look like.

I haven't been as active on here this past maybe 6 months and not much has changed. Yes, Instagram punished me for not posting consistently in terms of engagement (but I see its been punishing almost everyone). I do see a few of you popping off and am stoked to see your passions and effort paying off! At the moment I've got some higher priorities training wise and its a lot more enjoyable to get content out as a break instead of on a rigid schedule. We'll see how much posting I end up doing, but now that I'm healthy, you know I'm gonna be going 100% sports wise.

I got "At World's End" vibes while I was editing this sunset, so here's one of my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean quotes: “I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly stupid.” -Jack Sparrow

Swipe to see another blue hour set and tell me your fav, 1, 2, or 3?

There’s quite a lot of new faces around here so let me say a quick hello if I haven’t done so already! 👋 I’m Keats, the adventurer behind many of the shots you’ll see on here. I’m a landscape photographer based out of the Canadian Rockies. It’s currently ski season, so naturally you’re getting some fall hiking shots 😅. It’ll be one or the other depending on the time of yr. Welcome to the Ski/Hike side of insta 💛

PC: @reece__dixon 📷 for the dope first and last shots 🔥

Stick around and hopefully you’ll learn something, meet some rad peeps or have a few laughs! 🤙

I didn’t quite break my ribs last week, but it feels like I did (Hockey), so I’ve been passing the time with another extensive edit ✍️ Tell me your fav of the collection so far? 1, 2, 3, or 4

What colors and theme should I be on the lookout for next? I’m thinking a winter edition is in order when I’m healed and able to get out skiing in the new yr 👀

Ocean Blues 💙
the Art ft. the Artist 😏

Sometimes the telephoto gets used to shoot whales, other times it’s gets used to shoot the water 5 ft. from the boat.

Some Steeze.

You know I’ve got spare time on my hands when it’s not just a regular pic getting thrown up. I find images like this refreshing even though they are out of the norm for me. I learned at least 1 new trick playing around with these. Yeah maybe the aesthetic would have been cleaner as a standalone image, but this is me expanding my technical and creative skills. Something I don’t think we do enough even after we’ve found our “niche” 💛

People often ask if you’re cold in the backcountry wearing just a base layer. The short answer is, No. The other short answer is, Yes, I will be in 2 mins if we don’t start moving again. The only time I think I got cold on this trip with @shaozr was stopping for pics and maybe after I was covered with snow rolling in the powder go to slide 17… 😜🔥

Tell me the best way you know to stay warm? ⬇️

Shot on the Canon R5

When in doubt hittem with the fingerguns 👉👉

Don’t mind me posting some more fall photos even though its already the new year. I was away over new yrs and it still hasn’t kicked in... In reality, I just didn’t make time to post these after I edited them. 2025 might just be me slowly catching up on all the content from 2024 ;)

If you followed along on this past weeks stories or maybe even participated, thanks for wrapping up the year with me! Huge thanks to all of you who supported my stuff by reaching out, commenting, and interacting on here. Love it 💛

Cheers to bringing some empathy into 2025 (go read the 3rd slide).
