Happy Global Running Day from me and an icon: the Nike Pegasus 42.

I have spent the past few weeks staring at these photos from an otherworldly day in Death Valley trying to find the right words to describe how much running has radically changed my life.

This hobby I took up so reluctantly has expanded my world so far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I am infinitely grateful for everything this sport has given me, and everything I have earned through this practice.

Go outside. Nature is free. All you need is a pair of shoes.

Had to share a few more @shotby.dp took in Angeles Forest, Arroyo Seco, Angeleno Heights, and Santa Monica for my @hoka feature.

I know I have done quite a bit of sports *modeling* in the last couple of years, but the recent shift I have experienced towards more opportunities to be featured as a "creator" feels really special. I'm so grateful to the people that put me on and put me up for this opportunity with Hoka. Getting to be myself, in my favorite places, doing my favorite thing (and convincing a camera crew to hike a mile and a half up a mountain to capture it) is not something that I take for granted.

I have spent so much of my life supporting other people in their performances, having an opportunity to perform at *my thing* while others support *moi* feels really really good. 😭🥲🥹 taken in Angeles National Forest by @keatonkustler

How much does it cost to go run an ultra relay across the world? Here's a full breakdown of everything I spent going to Poland from Los Angeles to run #BordertoHel.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART IS GETTING TO THE START LINE!

I see a lot of people spending a lot of money on races & Running Vacations… But not a lot of people talking openly about how much it costs or how the HELL they afford it!

To me, these experiences are a wonderful investment of my time and money… but if you don't have the money, it doesn't matter how worth it it is. I personally would never put myself in debt for a race or vacation, and would never encourage anyone else to spend beyond their means!

I found the race itself to be extremely financially accessible, especially for Polish locals or even other European runners who don't have to fly trans-continental to the start line.

It's OK to not participate in things because they are not financially accessible for you, and you should never feel bad or like you are missing out because a race or an experience is outside of your budget. Running is still free! Just go outside! That's the magic of it, you can do it anywhere. At home, abroad, with friends, with people you met on Instagram that then decided to let you join them on a 295 mile ultra relay. It's all still running, baby!

Something I really loved about this race is that there was no Merch store. From the moment you arrived in Wizjany, nobody was trying to sell you anything more beyond your investment to get to the start line!

All the participants were given a swag bag which I unboxed in this video, and that was it. There was no merch at the end- aside from a tattoo flash if you wanted a forever souvenir 👹

I love having souvenirs to remember special races, but I really appreciate it just how much @swordsathletics kept the focus on your participation as an athlete and on being PRESENT- this race was not about status, you are not allowed any crew except for a Media person, but I don't believe any teams had their own photographers this year… We all were documented by the race's Media team (like @southbound400!).

Also the swag bag felt really thoughtful. I LOVE the idea of coffee beans bring home and share a cup of Poland with my homies stateside!
