I could write a book about you but for now, this is all my tender heart can muster.
Thank you for being my whole world and letting me be yours. Thank you for getting my ass out of bed, thank you for making me laugh until I cried, thank you for your devotion.
This pain is agonizing, but I’m so grateful to have had the privilege to love and be loved by the best boy in the whole world.

Apparently today is “World Mental Health Day”, it’s also the day my mom took her life 16 years ago. I had never even heard the term “mental health” growing up and seeing how far we have come in how we now openly discuss and prioritize something that was so stigmatized is inspiring and beautiful but also heartbreaking. I can’t help but feel sad for my younger self who was instilled with shame of my own moms suicide, and shame of feeling ashamed. And most of all, sadness for my mom, whose pain we didn’t understand.
