THIS ONE WAS FOR MY MOMMA 💗
This marathon brought out strength I didn’t know I had. After spraining my back only one month ago, having pain even walking, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to continue my block for this marathon. I told myself, if my loved ones can endure daily cancer treatments, I can find the strength within myself to push past the pain and do the damn thing.
With the help from my friends and family, I raised over $2k for the AACR AND PR’D THE FUCKING 2025 PHILADELPHIA MARATHON. You hold more determination and power than you think, and you can do whatever you put your mind to BECAUSE YOU CAN!!! HOW LUCKY ARE WE🍀
(Shout out to @rothmanortho for their amazing ortho team and getting me treatment for my sprained back that allowed me to complete this!!)

Week 13 ✅
Trying to keep my cardio up with hotsteppin’ with my pause on running. New books make long sessions go by quicker, and yummy food keeps me fueled to keep my cardio up. Ended my week with a dead car battery 🥲 but HOW LUCKY AM I for an amazing partner that keeps me anchored!🍀

Week 12✅
Running has been replaced with stair steppin’ as I heal my back injury. Steroid shot is scheduled, so hopefully this break from running will help me get back out there pain-free! Taking the easy weeks as time to rest and enjoy special moments ❣️ How lucky am I, that I can still be active, do the stair climber and strength train?🍀

116 miles even taking off over a week off from hitting my back (ily Lost Lands). Will I be able to run a marathon in a month? We will sure find out. 🤠

Week 11✅
Who knew 150k steps of high knees would be bad for my Degenerative Disc Disease?? Oh right…. Fair…. No running this week but LOTS of stairsteppin’, as even walking is trigging my sciatica 😪 working with my orthopedic to see about next steps.. I DEFINITELY am earning my geriatric badges 🥇🕺✨

Week 10 ✅
Only 18 running miles this week… but over 218,000 steps!! Lost Lands was the best time (it did leave me with a bruised foot, lost toe nail and pulled back (out of running until further notice) but I’m ready to go back 🕺✨
