Have I told you about my weird dreams? They give me many sleepless early mornings. Though stressful, they are also vivid in colour and cinematic. Example: I dreamt of working as a waiter in a large restaurant where all the tables stood on tiny concrete islands amongst a never-ending koi fish pond. I wore wide legged pants and bare feet. Myself and the other servers waded through the water, bringing trays of food to the guests. It was a busy and stressful dinner rush, yet exquisite.

Awake my imagination is often also engaged dreaming up things as I move about in the day.
Then when I see photos of myself I am often struck by how normal I look. Am I not more blurry and atmospheric? Do I not look more alternative and queer? I wonder if I dyed my hair green or wore many layers of drapey silk, if I might become more liquid.

Nasturtium, photo series, nov 2024, model Jovahny, photo & art direction by me.

November is a margin month for flowers. Many things have turned to seed, gone dormant or have been burnt by frost. These were a few jewels of nature that felt extra special to hold as winter loomed. I have been exploring portraits with flowers, sometimes soft and simple is enough. I will keep making and see where it takes me. Hand picked flowers, hand-cut paper as props, I am interested in the process. Im interested in the imperfect and its beauty.

While I haven't treated this page as a branded photography page I do think that photography and making images is an important part of my art practice. In the process of growing as photographer and in art direction I will be posting more of my work here and on my website.

More boardwalks 🙏. Small planks to run along and make-believe. Then, trails through the woods led me to fields. Fields where I could just make out four or so bats swooping around catching bugs. Their small wings contrasting with the pale sky but flying too quick to catch with my phone camera.

I stayed watching the bats until all the light disappeared from the sky.
Night had fallen and I slowly found my way back through all the trails. Time outside, and I was all the better for it. taken in Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse by @keepingthevision

Boardwalks are a favourite thing of mine. I love the look of them, i love to explore them. I dream of designing my own some day. Not only do they draw lines in a landscape, but they also invite the participants to hover above ground and water.
I love the sounds that so often come from walking along on them.

In this magical place, the tide was coming in and submerged parts of the path. Its too much! Eventually we couldn't go further because the water was getting higher and higher with the soon setting sun.

Water and planks and beautiful clouds of birds: sandpipers and plovers were flying around. It was all I could ever ask for in aesthetic beauty. This landscape is art, and my captures of it, dont do it justice. by @keepingthevision
