My 💕. I remember like yesterday when I found out you passed away. I was 11 years old. The same day I was admitted to the hospital because I needed surgery. My mother asked me did I wanna stop by before I went to the hospital. We finally made it and I was excited. I haven’t seen you in sooooo long and I could wait to hug you. I knocked on the door and my uncle Ricky answered. I hugged him and I looked at your chair sitting next to the china cabinet. I asked where you were. Uncle Ricky said, “Mama gone”. I said “what do you mean?”. He proceeded to tell me that you passed away. The feeling of knowing you was no longer here broke me. The pain was worst than going through surgery. When I got older, I remember how I found your gravestone. I was excited and bittersweet. I will always give you your flowers forever. You are my person I go to when I receive good news, when I have my bad days and even on my good days. I miss you sooo much. This isn’t a sad post. Weight loss is both mental and physical. It’s always you vs. you. From showing up for yourself, to navigating body dysmorphia, to learning how to see the version of yourself you’ve been working so hard toward, none of it is easy.

For me, the struggle was never eating healthy. It was consistency. It was showing up. It was believing I was capable of following through.

I’ve tried it all, but the real shift happened when I stopped negotiating with myself and started committing to my own blueprint. This is only the beginning of my journey. I still have more work to do, and I’m committed to the process.

I started at 255 and I’m currently 203. That alone is proof that consistency works when you finally decide to show up for yourself. Still leveling up. Still becoming her.
