Take a Leap of Faith I started @myemollient after my diagnosis with eczema. I may not be exactly where I want to be yet, but I'm determined to keep moving forward, one step at a time. Remember, it's all about the journey, not just the destination. Embrace your path, and you'll discover the incredible growth that comes with it. 🌱 #EczemaWarrior #MyEmollientJourney #KeepMovingForward #smallbatchskincare #dontletfearstopyourdreams #handmadeskincare #toxinfreeskincare #womanownedsmallbusiness by @keeshagaye

At our inaugural NOIRE Founders Dinner in New York City, we had the pleasure of bringing together women from different industries, backgrounds, and entrepreneurial journeys, including Keesha Gaye (@keeshagaye). Founder of My Emollient (@myemollient), Keesha’s entrepreneurial journey is deeply connected to her Jamaican heritage and the knowledge passed down through generations. Growing up, she witnessed her grandmother’s use of plants and natural remedies, experiences that would later influence her approach to wellness and inspire her business. Her story is a reminder of the different experiences, cultural traditions, and personal histories that shape the businesses women build. Through NOIRE Founders Society, we aim to continue bringing women together to share these stories, exchange knowledge, build meaningful relationships, and support one another throughout their entrepreneurial journeys. 🖤 Join our growing community of women founders, entrepreneurs, and creatives through the link in our bio. by @keeshagaye
What matters most to you when choosing body care? Hi, I’m Keeshagaye, founder of My Emollient. I created My Emollient because I wanted body care to feel simpler, more intentional, and easier to understand. Our body butters are water-free and made with seven core ingredients. No synthetic fragrance, parabens, petroleum, dyes, or coconut oil. Everything is handmade in small batches in Brooklyn, with ingredient transparency at the center of what we do. If you’re new here, welcome. 🤎 #MyEmollient #WaterFreeSkincare #SensitiveSkinCare #fallskincareroutine #BrooklynMade by @keeshagaye
Ever wondered what it feels like to stand in the vast silence of the Sahara? 🇲🇦 by @keeshagaye
This is the skirt I wore on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, I’m sharing something I’ve rarely spoken about. I didn’t expect to get emotional, but talking about that day brought a lot back. One thing I’ve never forgotten is how united people in New York were. As we were coming up the bridge, people were giving us water. People were showing up for each other, helping however they could. That kindness has stayed with me all these years. Remembering the lives lost, everyone who lived through it, and everyone still carrying that day with them. 🤍 #September11 #NeverForget #NewYork by @keeshagaye
Black-owned doesn’t mean Black-only. That distinction matters to me. I’m proud to be a Black founder, and my experiences are woven into the story of My Emollient. But the identity of the person who founded a beauty brand shouldn’t automatically determine who feels invited to use its products. My Emollient is for anyone who wants to be more intentional about what they put on their skin. Anyone who cares about thoughtful formulations. Anyone who wants to ask better questions about ingredients and build a beauty routine that aligns with their values. Our Black ownership is something I will always celebrate. But it is not a boundary around who we serve. I want My Emollient to exist in both conversations: as a proudly Black-owned beauty company and as a skincare brand helping move beauty toward greater ingredient awareness and intention. If you’ve ever wondered whether a Black-owned beauty brand was “for you” because you aren’t Black, I’d love to know where do you think that perception comes from? That soft, velvety finish? It doesn’t happen by accident. Mango butter is one of the seven thoughtfully selected ingredients behind the smooth, whipped texture My Emollient is known for. Made from the seed of the mango fruit, mango butter has very little natural scent. It helps soften the skin, maintain moisture, and give our body butter a silky feel without making the finished formula feel overly heavy. Every ingredient has a purpose, and we believe you deserve to know what is going on your skin. Have you used skincare made with mango butter before? #MangoButter #IngredientTransparency #WaterFreeSkincare #BodyButter #MyEmollient by @keeshagaye
Some of the best business advice doesn’t happen in a boardroom. It happens around a dinner table. This weekend, I had the opportunity to connect with a room full of brilliant Black women founders who are building, growing, pivoting, and dreaming big. The conversations were refreshing, inspiring, and exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Here’s to community, collaboration, and creating spaces where founders can show up as their full selves. 🥂🖤 Thank you @afriquenoiremagazine for curating this special moment. #BlackWomenFounders #FounderLife #Entrepreneurship #WomenInBusiness by @keeshagaye
