💛 slightly emotional while writing this because there were so many days where I was like...girl what are you even tryna do here???

I posted every day in this past month for my startup client 😮‍💨 Here's what I learned (and how @rellasocial made it actually doable):

1. I stopped trying to make everything "perfect." Most of our best-performing posts were what I thought would be "filler content" lol

2. More content = more data. I now have a really clear grasp on what our audience wants to see + how they like to be spoken to.

3. Posting daily isn't necessarily the best way to get max visibility (& tbh, I knew that going in). But it kept us consistent which is really what we wanted!

The only reason this was sustainable (truly) was because of @rellasocial. It mapped our content calendar, wrote captions that sounded like us, kept approvals in one place, and flagged what was actually working.

remote work life is freeing, but also veryy lonely!

One of the things I miss about working 9-5 was having ppl to talk to and make jokes with everyday. And the fact of the matter is, it's not at all the same when you work with a super small team that's completely remote.

So, I try to take every opportunity to see the people I work with in-person! Last month, a client of mine planned to host a couple events so I took it as an opportunity to just meet everyone else I work with in NYC. Totally worth it & I left feeling a lot more connected to my business & the ppl I work with <3

"going offline" seems to be the solution to escape the noise of social media - but the media has always followed our attention. and it's doing it again.

hence why three parts in, i keep coming back to the question: "what are you actually trying to escape?"

is it political noise?
the 24/7 product push?
watching the lives of people you don't know?
or is it just a habit that doesn't feel good anymore?

"I'm sick of social media" is way too broad. if you really want a solution, you have to get specific about what's draining you and create an escap plan that's actually achievable.

there are soo many parallels between the social media industry & the industrial revolution!!

I'm no history expert - at allll - but given I work in the marketing industry & I'm constantly managing my own content consumption, i find the topic of "going offline" quite fascinating, because it raises questions of:
- well, where's everyone going?
- will going "there" solve "the problem"?
- what even is "the problem"?

being "chronically online" is no longer trendy, the ppl are tired and wanna touch grass.🌿

funny enough though, I don't think the reason ppl are ditching social media is purely cause they wanna "be outside" and "be present" and "connect". I'll share more in tomorrow's video. 👀 but lmk what you think?? by @keianabyfield
