Bit of a crazy few days actually! 🤪

Went for a job interview on Tuesday and got it! 😳
I start tomorrow, (Monday). Had to begin CPC training immediately, so I can drive HGV asap. 🚛 🚚
(CPC is professional driver training required for all UK truck drivers -5 days).

And then asked to return to security Friday & Saturday, for a big production up on the moors, (0600hrs - 2000hrs). I could tell you what is was but then, you now, I’d have to….😥

Bumped into an old mucker I went to training with back in the day. Hadn’t seen him for 33 years. Giving my age away 😉
I pulled up the sandbags and
Dean Westlake was swinging the lamp.

Got a puncture on my last day of security: Saturday 8pm wet, cold, dark, Dartmoor, forest, lol. Finally got home at 11pm.

And now it’s Sunday night and I start my new job tomorrow. Feeling very blessed.

Will resume marketing and MMO content shortly.

So today was graduation day, and the official announcement of our achievements.

You’ll be pleased to know I arrived on time, and didn’t trip over the steps on my way up to the stage.

I was mindful of the significance of the occasion and took the time to be present in the moment. It felt nice to feel pride in myself. It was also lovely to see everyone and catch up on what everyone had been up to.

Deciding to go to Uni was a pretty significant curve ball to be serving up for the family; especially considering how difficult the film and television industry is to break into.

We all have dreams and goals of course, and Uni and Uni was the perfect environment in drawing my attention and focus towards the specific elements of the industry that most suited to my particular strengths and interests. It gave me the clarity to channel my energy, thought and effort into the right direction.

People close to me will know I often suffer from persistent bouts of optimism. Never quite managing to shrug them off.

So here I am, looking optimistically in the direction of dreams, with great expectation.

#sorrynotsorry.

All I want is to make a living, where my imagination and creativity can run free, and my heart soar.

But of course it’s back to work on Friday. 12hr shifts and early starts; out in all weathers as winter approaches, and to be honest, I can’t wait, because it’s all part of the plan and the bigger picture.

Thanks to everyone who’s helped and support me over the last 5 years. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Greetings friends;

this time tomorrow I’ll be about to enter my Graduation Ceremony.

I’ll have collected my cap and gown, and probably chatting nervously with Anna, and my other fellow students, waiting to enter the hall.

It’s been a long few years, trying to get to this point. Lots of mistakes made; lots of lessons learnt.

I feel emotional. The time seems to have passed by in a flash, and now here I am, about to exit academia and student life once and for all.

I have loved it. I enjoyed identifying as a student. I enjoy identifying as a writer, director, producer and filmmaker. I need to make sure I continue to practice the habit of filmmaking. And I will. It’s what I do.

For now, I’m working security on film sets. They’re 12hr shifts but I never complain. It’s part of the strategy to get close to the industry. Networking; observing; helping, learning. I’m excited to see what the future holds. 1 year; 3 years; 5 years. I feel grateful.

I’m surprised about how nervous I feel about tomorrow. It’s always seemed so far ahead in the future that I never really paid it that much attention; and now that time is almost here.

I’m sure I’m over thinking it. What could possibly go wrong, lol. Look out for my pictures tomorrow in my cap and gown, chest out; shoulder back; chin up.

As one door closes another door opens, as they say.

I look forward to sharing my journey with you, for those that are interested. And until then, have a blessed day.

So yesterday I completed my first ever marathon in 4hrs 21 minutes. I’m very happy with that performance as I was expecting to be around 5 hrs.
