WE'RE GOING BACK UNDERGROUND.

Waiheke, following all the support for our first event, you showed us exactly what the Island has been missing. After a packed-out, wall-vibrating debut, Bassment 82 is returning to the depths of the Wild Estate cellar on Saturday August 1st for another night of unapologetic, heavyweight sound. We aren't here to play background music.

If you missed the first round, don't sleep on this one. We are keeping things things stripped back to the absolute essentials: a dark, intimate atmosphere, and a sound system built to be felt in your chest.

We’re keeping the music strictly underground, moving between the funky two-step grooves of UK Garage, the deep dark wobbles of old-school Dubstep, some good old fashioned Drum & Bass rollers, and everything in between. Come and get it.

Keighto and DP are two beat-goblins who will be bringing their wobble wizardry to the Flightless Frequencies dance floor next Friday.

Kate gave us some answers to our burning questions on behalf of the duo..

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗝 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀?
My nickname has always been kato or kato potato or hate kamill, but since k80 and kato were taken on instagram/soundcloud/bandcamp I decided to just spell out “eight” in between K and 0 so there we go. DP is Daniels nickname and initials since forever and easy easy.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗝𝗶𝗻𝗴?
I got into DJing from all my friends DJing and my love for DNB at the time, as soon as I started DJing though I saw Flava D play a bass house bassline and UKG set at NB and that’s when I knew that’s what I wanted to learn the most to mix so UKG became my bread and butter for years 🧈

𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗝 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?
Favourite DJ moment for DP and me was closing the @kauri_quakes stage on the @pdc.sound.system at 4am post lightning storm in 2025 ♥️. For myself it was playing at Northern Bass this year.
