A democracia venceu! by @keila.aurea

A short-film night celebrating contemporary Brazilian cinema and its diverse narratives.

Brazil is currently going through very polarised elections and these are tense weeks across the country – as it is around the globe. Thinking of this, we create this space to raise awareness, start conversations, and stand with our friends. Feel free to join our gathering and discover some of the new generation of Brazilian cinema.

DEUS by Vinícius Silva (2017) - Following the routine of Roseli, the film aims to expose the adversities that impregnate the daily lives of black women from the outskirts of São Paulo who struggle to provide sustenance not only for themselves but especially for their children.
Best Brazilian Short Film – Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife
Best Film (Official Jury & Popular Jury), Canal Brasil Award – Curta Cinema Rio
Best Documentary – Festival de Cinema de Lajeado
International Premiere – FIDBA Buenos Aires

NADAR EM AQUÁRIOS (2026) - Alone in a seaside inn, two men wake up to the same morning, over and over – trapped in a time loop with the love that once sheltered them.
Official Selection – i-Fest International Film Festival (Italy, 2026)
33º Festival de Cinema de Vitória

OS ANOS 3000 ERAM FEITOS DE LIXO - Garbage mountains through the streets. People covered with garbage and moisturizing with manure. Garbage with a neon glow. Trash with hologram and stereo sound. Garbage is a high competition billboard. Garbage is the new currency and its ballast is greater than gold.

TE EXTRAÑO, PERDULARIA (2024) by Manu Zilveti - At a Cuban high school, a group of girls who call themselves „Las Perdularias“ find ways to cope with the absences on an island that is becoming increasingly empty.
Official Selection – Sundance Film Festival 2025
World Premiere – Kassel Doc Film & Video Festival 2024 by @keila.aurea

Expire.
