It’s a very special pub day: my son Cosmo’s short story, “We,” appears in The Baneberry Book of Horror, the debut issue of a new horror annual.

It’s a terrific story and I couldn’t be more proud! by @keirgraff

A delightful and intimate SUNDAY SALON CHICAGO reading event last night @roscoe_books in its new temporary location 2 doors west (due to condo construction). I enjoyed hosting these five talented authors: @cynvargasauthor @janicemdeal @keirgraff Naeem Murr & Daniel Borzutzky 👏🔥🥰 Thank you, everyone, for attending. TY @cynthiakerby.trueideas and Roscoe Books! Please share. In gratitude always for the arts and a stellar community. In a harshly divided world, our consciousness is a malleable and movable ocean, braided by the current and power of words. Love each other & stay strong! See you again on October 25 for our next reading, on Zoom 🙏🌈❤️ www.sundaysalon-chicago.com | www.roscoebooks.com taken in RoscoeBooks by @keirgraff

They canceled the Fox Valley Half Marathon but I ran it anyway! Soggy shoes and a few wrong turns, but 13.1 miles later I’m over my disappointment.

Would have been more fun to have the full experience but I saw a lot of smiles and runners cheering each other on. Running in the rain is never as bad as it sounds. by @keirgraff

While shooting The Apartment in New York City, Billy Wilder had a brainstorm: the Marx Brothers at the United Nations!

The premise? The Marx Brothers are thieves who rob Tiffany's and then are mistaken for the Latvian delegation to the UN while they make their escape... and mayhem ensues.

The Marx Brothers hadn’t appeared together in a movie in over a decade, and all of them were in their 70s, but when Wilder contacted Groucho, Groucho told Wilder to contact his agent brother Milton (AKA Gummo). Milton said Harpo would follow Groucho's lead, and Chico would go along since he always needed the money.

Unfortunately, Harpo suffered a heart attack while rehearsing for a TV special, and Wilder's producers got cold feet. Wilder pivoted to a much older idea--remaking a 1928 play by Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnar. And instead of the three Marx Brothers, he cast James Cagney.

The resulting movie, One, Two, Three--an antic screwball comedy--still has Marx Brothers mojo to burn.

The Marx Brothers at the United Nations might have been terrible, but how I wish we could have had both movies!

Some call it the greatest comedy ever made, Billy Wilder calls it “the movie where Marylin Monroe nearly killed me.” Whether you’re here to celebrate this all-time classic or to indulge in the backstage drama, you’ve come to the right place. by @keirgraff
