“Walls Will Fall” is a site-specific composition by Mazen Kerbaj that will guide 28 Berlin trumpet players through the unique acoustics of the Genezarethkirche. According to the Old Testament, Jericho’s walls collapsed under the sound of seven trumpeters, blowing their horns for seven days while circling around the city. Far from the religious background of the story, it is the idea of music breaking walls and barriers that is central to this composition. During the performance of “Walls Will Fall,” the Genezarethkirche’s natural reverberation becomes the accomplice of every sound and movement.
Mazen Kerbaj with: Aaron Schmidt-Wiegand, Alexander Gibson, Brad Henkel, Carina Khorkhordina, Claudia Habig, Cornelius Fritsch, Florian Scheffler, Gisela Meßollen, Güley Alagöz, Hilary Jeffrey, Juri Bell, Linus Bornheim, Milad Khawam, Paul Schwingenschlögl, Przemek Swiderek, Yannick Maentele, Tandoruk Yalçin, Germán Gabriel García, Simon Dufour, Elena Bjuan, Simone Samuel, Caique Santana, Tobias Netta, Lutz Wolf, Steffen Zimmer, Cielo Faccio, Fabien Engwicht, Liz Allbee taken in Genezarethkirche by @keithbarberlin

From 2023 to 2025 I played an hour of love songs on Sunday evenings from a little studio behind Keith Bar in Neukölln.

Sixties soul one minute, jangly indie or a synth-drenched new wave heartbreaker the next. The only rule was that it had to be a love song.

There were fifty shows, a dozen or so with a theme or a special guest, and now they all live in one place.

Silly Little Love Songs: the complete archive. Link in bio.

Ausstellung Malerei und Skulptur
Philip Grözinger & Peter Kröning
SP2, Schillerpromenade 2, 12049 Berlin

tieferen, weniger sichtbaren Ebene heraus.
