Champ is coming home tonight just in time for his 17th birthday next week.

The Murder warrant was dismissed at the preliminary hearing. He was the true victim after being shot 3 times. He’s had to fight off gang members while in custody. He’s also been on 23 hours of lockdown over the last few months.

Champ is such a wonderful young man with great community support. I can’t count the number of calls and texts I received from people I respect about his character - including no nonsense coaches.

He’s an elite cornerback, so we had a lot to talk about in that jail cell. Now, I can look forward to seeing his journey unfold according to God’s unwavering Grace and Mercy.

A day in my life is about showing up. For my clients, for the kids I coach, and for my family. 🏈🙏🏾

Some days start with hard conversations. Others end on the football field, helping young people build confidence and discipline. In between, I try to stay present, listen more than I talk, and do the work the right way.

I’m grateful to be part of a community that looks out for one another, and I do my best to give that same care back through my time and presence.
