The best wildlife photos are rarely the ones you planned. I had my lens focused on the intense, splashy battle for salmon, camera screaming, when I happened to look to my right and saw this total mood. Swapping intense action for pure play was the easiest decision I made all day. Sometimes you just have to sit back and watch. ✨

It’s absolutely mesmerizing watching the coastal brown bears wade into the creeks and in this scene - surrounded by a swirling sea of red sockeye salmon. You can see the swirls surrounding the bear as it swims in circles. This is the definition of an all-you-eat buffet.
