One week ago I told you about my new walkies toy and I wanted to update you about how it’s going now!

After the initial excitement I did lose a bit of enthusiasm for the toy. I was coming back but not really engaging with it as much. Mum didn’t want to give up on it so she made time on some of our walks for some dedicated play! That went down really well, I LOVE play time and became more excited about the toy again.

By the end of the walk I’m often a bit tired so mum makes sure to have the treats on hand, I’ve always got enough energy for a snack 😋 so now we are starting walkies with the toy and bringing out the treats at the end. The playing together has been really special, it’s nice for us to have that dedicated time to focus on each other and build our bond, ready for the adolescent days ahead!

Toy from @tugenuff, no affiliation it’s just a good toy!

Paws up who loves a big play in the water! I know I do! 🐾

Today mum took me out nice and early so we had all of this beautiful forestry site to ourselves 🌳

Mum had been looking for a towelling robe for me and we were lucky enough to be gifted this one from @wandraworld to give a test run! I love to have a play with a towel so mum puts it on me 5 mins before the end of walkies so I have a bit of time to calm down and won’t gnaw it in the car, this has been very successful so far. This robe has held up well, it’s been through the wash a fair few times already, been through the dryer without shrinking, and I think you’ll agree it looks super cute on me 😊

It’s Chewsday! Hooray!!😋😋😋

I’m a teething Labrador who LOVES to chew and mum is looking for satisfying chews as well as some non-food and low fat options, so we’re going to test things out each week and let you know what we think!

For week two I got to try my first beef trachea! This has been highly recommended by dog pals and people stuff them with all sorts(we’ve had suggestions of soaked kibble and doggy ice cream😋). Mum decided to go with sweet potato because she was already cooking some for dinner and it’s something else I haven’t tried yet. She then put it in the freezer and waited for a good moment (they were watching some people be traitorous on TV or something).

I was very excited about this one, it smelled amazing and I had to have a little play to show my enthusiasm! But settled with it quickly and had a good chew. It took me 41 minutes to chew through and this was only a “standard” trachea, mum says maybe I can try the “large” one day and I can’t wait!

Mum score- 8/10, it was a bit messy(but she was prepared for this) but natural and she was happy to learn that it contains glucosamine and chondroitin which are beneficial for healthy joints (thanks to @satchssnacks_naturaldogtreats for the info- 10% off with Keith10)
Keith score- 9/10, delicious, point knocked off because it didn’t last forever.

Chewing ASMR at the end! Suitable from 12 weeks.

We’d love to hear your suggestions for my Chewsday series! What do you/does your dog find really satisfying?🥰

Testing out my new glowy collar ready for the incoming darker evenings! I like to wander off and explore on my walks so being able to stand out is essential. I look fantastic in it (obviously) and it’s going to help my helicopter mum keep her beady eyes on me at all times!

We had a such great day yesterday pumpkin picking at @over_farm_pickyourown 🎃 Mum said I was the cutest pumpkin in the patch(obviously), the small human dressed up like Elsa(obviously) and I dragged dad all over the place because it was SO EXCITING(obviously)!! It’s so lovely to have a seasonal activity we can do as a family! Mum loved the selfie stations, I loved the treat on arrival and sniffing around, Elsa loved cuddling pumpkins and driving the car, Dad loved the bits where I stopped pulling 😂

Following advice from our puppy class with @harryshounds1 mum has FINALLY got me a special walkies toy! She chose one from @tugenuff because it was one that I was particularly drawn to during my classes (no affiliation, we just like the toy).

The idea is that it stays desirable by only coming out for walkies, stays with my humans(isn’t thrown) and encourages them to play with me when I return, hopefully making them the most interesting thing on a walk. I’m heading into adolescence now so my humans know my willingness to run back may become a thing of the past soon. I’m also VERY interested in pulling towards dogs and people when I’m on walks so they are hoping this toy might help keep my interest in these scenarios!

Obviously this is just our first walk with the toy so excitement is at a high and we didn’t encounter any other people! We will let you know how we get on 🥰

Happy Saturday!
