How do I support horses through weaning and weathering changes in fall? ProTek GI for EVERYONE!

• ProTek GI from Kelato contains Pectin which forms a gel-like layer over the stomach to help to support the lining against gastric acid. It also has Lecithin which is a phospholipid that improves the integrity of the stomach lining. This product supports Hindgut Health with yeast probiotic and prebiotics to help reduce lactic acid in the hindgut (stabilizes pH) and stimulate the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria.

This sort of “whole gut” approach form a supplement is exactly what horses need during times of stress, living arrangement changes and weather and diet change. It’s how I keep them happy and healthy! by @kelato_usa

Did someone say ‘treats’?

Consider the feed room officially haunted by horses who heard a wrapper open from three stalls away.

We hope the treat-bucket is full and the spooks stay strictly Halloween-themed.

Happy Halloween from Kelato USA! by @kelato_usa

No matter how the ride went, they always get a “thank you” at the end.

For the good rides, the hard rides, and the ones where they tried their heart out even if it didn’t quite go to plan. A pat, a scratch, an extra minute together before heading back to the barn.

It’s just what we do. by @kelato_usa

“I’ve had him for eleven years and I’ve never been able to get that result…”

For 4-star event rider and Kelato Ambassador Madeleine Scott the first difference she noticed with Crosby after starting PROTEK GI was at the feed bucket.

“He was a terrible eater, uptight when travelling, and since he’s been on it he actually finishes his grain, eats more hay…”

Arena-side with fellow Kelato Ambassador Nicole Nair, Madeleine shares how PROTEK GI has become part of the routine for her team. Supporting their digestion, and ultimately helping them feel well through training, travelling and competing. by @kelato_usa

What a whirlwind of a week!

Over the past seven days, I had the privilege of joining Dr. Ben Sykes for nine events across Western Canada, including visits to four veterinary clinics, a conference, and countless conversations along the way.

We scoped horses, visited vet clinics, exchanged ideas, and spent endless hours in the car discussing all things equine gastrointestinal health!

More than anything, this week was about building meaningful connections, strengthening relationships with veterinarians and industry partners across Western Canada, and opening the door to exciting new opportunities and future collaborations.

A sincere thank you to Kelato, Boehringer Ingelheim Canada, Stacey Wood, and Dr. Ben Sykes for making this incredible experience possible. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this journey and to have the opportunity to show Ben a little of my beautiful country.

I’m also looking forward to sharing some exciting developments and a new chapter for Na Lio Equine in the coming days! by @kelato_usa

Different disciplines. Different demands. Gut health belongs in every routine.
Before the training, travel and competition begin, supporting both the stomach and hindgut helps set horses up for the work ahead.
PROTEK GI™ provides comprehensive, research-backed digestive support from stomach to hindgut, helping support healthy digestion, comfort and a happier horse overall. No matter what their job looks like. by @kelato_usa

Your horse’s digestive system doesn’t stop at the stomach. Neither does PROTEK GI.

PROTEK GI is designed to support total digestive health, targeting both the stomach and hindgut through a unique, research-proven formulation.

So, how does it actually work?

1. Coats the stomach lining
Pectin forms a gel-like layer over the stomach wall, helping support the lining against the corrosive effects of gastric acid.

2. Supports a healthy stomach lining
Lecithin helps improve the integrity of epithelial cells, supporting the stomach’s natural protective barrier.

3. Supports the stomach’s natural defenses
Multiple buffers work alongside pectin and lecithin to help reduce irritation from gastric acid at the level of the stomach lining, where it matters most.

4. Supports the hindgut
Levucell SC® yeast probiotic and Agrimos® yeast prebiotic work together to help reduce lactic acid, stabilize hindgut pH and support the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria.

And importantly, PROTEK GI isn’t built on ingredient research alone.

Peer-reviewed research on the finished PROTEK GI formulation found that daily supplementation reduced the incidence and severity of gastric ulcers following discontinuation of omeprazole.

Developed in collaboration with world-leading expert in EGUS Dr. Ben Sykes, PROTEK GI takes a whole-digestive-system approach to supporting your horse from stomach to hindgut.

Research Proven. Scientifically Backed. by @kelato_usa

Now available in three size options, giving horse owners greater flexibility to choose the supply that best suits their horse and routine.

11.5 lbs (5.25 kg) | 21-day supply*
23 lbs (10.5 kg) | 42-day supply*
NEW 34.7 lbs (15.75 kg) | 63-day supply*

PROTEK GI’s unique formulation targets both stomach and hindgut health.

In the stomach, coating agents form an alkaline slime barrier over the stomach wall to help protect against acid burn while supporting the mucosal lining.

In the hindgut, Levucell SC® yeast probiotic and Agrimos® yeast prebiotic work together to help reduce lactic acid, stabilize hindgut pH and support beneficial bacteria.

Now, with three size options, it’s easier to choose the supply that works for you while maintaining consistent digestive support for your horse.

Same research-proven formula. More choice. Greater convenience.

Available now in the USA.

Patience, perseverance, and nine years in the making.

Huge congratulations to Kelato Ambassador Sharon White, Claus 63, and the entire team behind them on winning the CCI4*-L at the US Equestrian Open Eventing Final this weekend.

Sharon and “Claus” have spent nine years building their partnership. After a season that hasn’t been without setbacks, their performance over the three days reflected their perseverance and experience at this level. They sat comfortably in the top three through the first two phases before topping it all off with a flawless clear show jumping round when it mattered most, making the win all the more special.

Sharon’s younger horses also put in exciting performances across the event:
CCI Three Star - Short Jaguars Duende 8th
CCI Three Star Young Horse - Short Arden Janeway 2nd
A great reflection of the depth she has coming through and a reason to be excited about the future.

We’re incredibly proud to play a small part in supporting Sharon’s team with PROTEK GI.

“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate Kelato and its positive impact on my horses!” Sharon White

Congratulations, Sharon, Claus, and the whole team. Enjoy your well-deserved celebrations! What a weekend and what a win.

“There’s nothing more expensive than a product that doesn’t work.”

The true cost goes beyond the price you pay for the product.

When you’re supporting a horse with stomach health concerns, choosing the right product matters. There’s the financial investment, the time spent managing the horse and, most importantly, the impact on the horse itself.

That’s why research, science and consistency matter when choosing nutritional support.
PROTEK GI has been developed specifically to support the stomach and hindgut, with research behind the formula and a focus on delivering consistent, reliable support.
Ultimately, we want the same thing every horse owner wants: to feel confident that what we’re giving our horses is supporting them where it matters most. by @kelato_usa

Home barn or show barn, the routine comes with us.

Different stalls, different arenas, plenty of miles on the road — but looking after our horses stays the constant.

That's why PROTEKGI comes in a range of practical sizes to suit your stable's needs.

We’re excited to welcome Hanna Egan and her team of horses to the Kelato USA Ambassador Team!

Based in Ocala, Florida, Hanna competes at Grand Prix level in show jumping and knows just how important it is to have the right support behind her horses.

Here’s Hanna’s story with PROTEK GI™:

"I’ve been using the PROTEK GI™ on my Grand Prix horse for about a year now and it has made the world of a difference. Last November he became virtually unrideable as he was struggling terribly with gastric ulcers despite our best efforts. I did not know what to use to support him when he finished his treatment, so my vet recommended PROTEK GI™. This supplement has kept him happy and comfortable with zero problems with ulcers since starting the product. It brought my horse back and I can’t recommend it enough."

Thank you for sharing your story Hanna, and we can't wait to follow your success over the rest of the season.
