for when i am weak, then i am strong

freshman year was one i was never going to be able to predict. first semester i was weak and defeated, with getting set back in rehab, not knowing anyone in a whole new environment, and feeling so out of control in every aspect of my life. i became anxious and depressed. but in my weakest moments i was able to experience how strong the Lord truly is. i learned what full dependence on the Lord looked like and with that came peace and pure joy! The Lord provided in so many ways second semester, with getting back on the track, bringing me some of the sweetest community, and showing me that His plan is far greater than anything i could ever imagine. He has made me strong!

So i take pleasure in weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

have been officially posting in my gratitude journal for 2 months so here are some things i’m grateful for and what the Lord has taught me:

the ONLY way to be content is through Jesus Christ. things of this world, people of this world, will never satisfy us, no matter how hard we try or how hard we look. the only thing that will leave us content is giving our life to Jesus.

comparison is the true thief of joy. i have spent way too much time in comparison these past few months, and i have seen the direct result of that. learning to be where my feet are and thanking God for the things he has given me has restored my joy.

and finally, even on “bad days” there are SO many things to be grateful for, even if for that day it’s just “i got to sleep in” (i think i’ve put that down in my journal numerous times). yes there are days where i stare at my journal for 5 min thinking about how nothing good happened that day, and how i wish my circumstances were different. but overall the fruit i have seen by just writing down three things im grateful for has changed my life.
