Pape Gueye says he’s stepping away from the Senegal national team for as long as the current coaching staff remains in charge. 🇸🇳

A major statement from one of Senegal’s experienced midfielders following the team’s elimination. What do you think, should changes be made, or should players support the current staff?

👇🏾Let me know your thoughts.

Everything was going so well… until it wasn’t. 💔🇸🇳

Senegal had one foot in the next round, but football can be cruel. From pure celebration to complete silence in a matter of minutes. That’s why we love this game… and hate it at the same time.

SENEGAL… WE ARE NOT OK!!! 😭💔

How do you blow a 2-goal lead in a World Cup knockout match?! We were this close to the Round of 16… this one is going to hurt for a long time.

Iran felt the full cruelty of football in one moment. 💔🇮🇷
Undefeated in the group stage, seconds away from a dream finish… and then VAR changed everything.
This is why the World Cup hurts different.

Did Iran deserve to go through? 👇⚽

If you’re not inviting me to a watch party ⚽️ or to a bar to watch the World Cup… then why are you inviting me outside? 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

My schedule revolves around kickoff times now. Priorities. 🌍🏆

You don’t celebrate losses… you celebrate a team that never stopped fighting. 🇭🇹💙❤️

Haiti gave everything they had, and their fans reminded the world what unconditional support looks like. No matter the result, we’re proud of this team.

🌎 FIFA World Cup 2026 — End of Matchday 2 Update ⚽️

The group stage is heating up! 🔥

🇺🇸 USA, 🇲🇽 Mexico, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇫🇷 France, and 🇦🇷 Argentina have put themselves in strong positions after two matches, while several groups are still completely up for grabs heading into Matchday 3.

👀 Remember: with the new 48-team format, even some third-place teams can still advance, so every goal, point, and tiebreaker matters.

Who has impressed you the most so far? And which team do you think is getting eliminated on Matchday 3? 👇⚽️

England couldn’t break them. Ghana wouldn’t back down. 🇬🇭🔥
After beating Panama and holding England to a draw, the Black Stars are making the world pay attention. ⭐️🌍
Is Ghana Africa’s best hope at this World Cup? 👀⬇️

You might be wondering why Senegal is celebrating after a 3-2 loss to Norway. 🤔🇸🇳

In the new 48-team World Cup format, finishing 3rd doesn’t automatically eliminate you.

The top 2 teams in each group advance, plus the 8 best third-place teams across all 12 groups.

Senegal still has one match left against Iraq. A win would put them on 3 points and right back in the race for a spot in the Round of 32.

So no, this celebration isn’t about the result.

It’s about the fact that Senegal’s World Cup dream is still alive. 🇸🇳🔥⚽#worldcup2026 #fifaworldcup #footballculture #soccernews taken in FIFA World Cup by @kelishaplaysitback
