A year ago today, I never could have imagined I’d be living with 75% vision loss in my left eye, little to no depth perception, zero peripheral vision, and so much more—all from one of the rarest eye diseases.

After a near month-long process, I’m incredibly proud to share that, with the help of Mayor Gilbert, August 17th will officially be recognized as International Coats Disease Awareness Day in the Town of Apex. 💙

What started as a diagnosis that changed my life has become a chance to raise awareness for a disease many have never heard of.

Here’s to turning something rare into something recognized. 👁️💙
