🔸”Trees can live to be very old. To get to this point, the community must remain intact no matter what. If every tree were looking out only for itself, then quite a few of them would never reach old age...

Every tree therefore, is valuable to the community and worth keeping around for as long as possible. And that is why even sick individuals are supported and nourished until they recover. Next time, perhaps it will be the other way round, and the supporting tree might be the one in need of assistance..

But why are trees such social beings? Why do they share food with their own species and sometimes even go as far as to nourish their competitors? The reasons are the same as human communities: there are advantages to working together. A tree is not a forest. On its own, a tree cannot establish a consistent local climate. It is at the mercy of wind and weather. But together, many trees create an ecosystem that moderates extremes heat and cold, stores a great deal of water, and generate a great deal of humidity. 🔸Here’s the whole printing process for this edition!☀️
We’re getting ready to head to Colorado for the @cherryarts Art Festival the first weekend of July.

Thanks to help from @ambermohr_ , I was able to pull a few more of these guys that will be dry, ready for framing and a roadtrip south at the end of the month! Look forward to meeting some of you there👋

Who loves this format for a block print??

This print along with 2 other of my latest linocuts, is part of the @sitkacenter ‘s annual Sitka Art Invitational this weekend at @oregoncontemporary in Portland!

Thanks to @sitkacenter , this beautiful show brings so many gorgeous works of art from all over the PNW together for an incredible one-weekend exhibition that supports both local artists and the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of it.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share my sweet little pano linocut print, “Eagle Cap,” has been chosen as the featured image for this year’s Anacortes Arts Festival!

🔸I spent the last couple of months working on this linocut print inspired by the Salish Sea.

The first print of the edition is part of Showcase 2026: a year-long juried exhibition at Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery.

🔸BLUE MOON 🔵
Blue moon in Sagittarius, I’m feelin ya!
The blue rainbow roll monotype ended up so smooth considering it took multiple brayers to cover the 24” moon,😅.

There’s some subtle blind embossing around the gilded ponderosa pine linocut as well✨, and to finish it off, Jason made a gorgeous madrone frame for her!😭
