It’s Thriller Thursday! 🔪 And what better way to celebrate than with my Top 20 Thrillers of 2026 so far?

We’re more than halfway through the year and I’ve read over 100 thrillers! (Should I be proud or seek therapy? 🤔😂)

These are the 20 that stood out to me as the most suspenseful, twisty, and deliciously addictive 😋👀

💬 Which ones have you read? What has been your favorite so far this year?

ALSO
🏖️🍂 How do you feel about late summer? Are you in the majority and ready for fall, or are you like me and kind of sad that summer is ending?

𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 by J.H. Markert
Release Date: October 6, 2026
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was NOT the book I expected from that cover, and I mean that in the best way! I went in expecting a locked-room horror and got a much more complex, twisty thriller instead.

This one is hard to describe without giving too much away, but there’s a cult, a serial killer on death row, a kidnapped governor’s wife, a mysterious manuscript, and a race against time. ⏳

I loved seeing all the pieces of this story come together, especially as the different storylines started connecting in ways I never expected. Fans of fast-paced thrillers with plenty of twists will not be disappointed!

🍂📚 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗜𝗣𝗧 📚🍂

September was mostly thrillers and enough plot twists to keep me suspicious of everyone 👀 I even squeezed in two rom-coms, so apparently I still have a little room for romance in between all the murder and mayhem. 😂🧡

There were two ARCs that were real standouts for me, and I was thrilled to read the sequel to 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘦𝘴 (Liane Moriarty is one of my favorites!). I also really enjoyed Lisa Jewell’s latest, 𝘐𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘳.

💬 What was the best book you read this month?

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘳 by Michael Mizov
Release Date: September 29, 2026
⭐⭐⭐⭐

First, that cover 😍.

Lottie Bradbury is summoned back to her family’s crumbling estate twelve years after being sent away following her mother’s death. Her estranged father expects her to save the manor through an arranged marriage, but once she returns, a worker is found dead, and strange things begin happening inside the house. As Lottie digs into her family’s past, she discovers a dark legacy that may be waiting to claim her next.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘳 was such a creepy, atmospheric read! I loved how the setting and time period came to life, and I was completely swept up in the sinister world of Bradbury Manor.

If you enjoy atmospheric Gothic horror, haunted houses, dark family secrets, and an overall unsettling vibe, definitely add this one to your TBR!

💬 Are you in spooky season mode yet? 👻🎃

My electrician husband is back at it "guessing" book titles. 😬

Keeping the lights on and the book community entertained, one goofy guess at a time. ⚡😂

Books and Stars Hollow sounds like the perfect combination. ☕🍂📚

I matched some of the cast of Gilmore Girls with books I think they’d love, but a few had me completely stumped. Richard, Lane, Dean, Kirk, and especially Rory gave me a challenge!

💬 Help me finish the Stars Hollow book club. What books would you recommend for the characters I left out?

☑️ 3 ARCs THAT CHECKED ALL MY BOXES ☑️

The last 3 ARCs I’ve read were absolute bangers 🔥

𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭 and 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘑𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵𝘺 lured me in with those covers, but 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦? 👎 Then I read my friend @deeg_reads' wonderful review and thankfully my request was accepted. I flew through that one in no time. It’s easily one of the top thrillers I’ve read this year! 🙌

💬 Will you add these to your TBR?
If you read any of these ARCs, what did you think?

𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭 by Lynn Painter
Release Date: September 29, 2026
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was such a cute fall read! I loved the whole small-town girl inherits a fortune and suddenly finds herself living in New York City and attending an elite private school setup.

Julia and Damion were so much fun to follow. I loved their chemistry, and the tension between them was so good.

If you’re looking for a light, entertaining YA romcom with an opposites-attract romance, add this one to your TBR! 💕

Electrician by day, professional book title butcher by night. 😂⚡

We're back with our 8th edition of my husband guessing book titles. His very literal interpretations never fail to entertain me! He tries so hard to be creative... but who's gonna tell him 👀🤣

Have you tried this with someone you know? I highly recommend it!

💬 What book cover should he attempt next? Drop your suggestions below!

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 by Noelle W. Ihli

Have you read this one yet? I’ve recently become a fan of Noelle W. Ihli after reading 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 and saw her reel featuring this Halloween story, so I had to pick it up. 🎃

It wasn’t what I expected, but it was a fun teen slasher for spooky season.

💬 Do you think you’ll read or skip this one?

𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘏𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘵, a debut novel by Katie Jung, was SO much fun! Think 𝘔𝘺 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥’𝘴 𝘞𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 meets 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴. 👻💘

Libby has been secretly in love with her best friend Carter for years, but he’s about to marry someone else. Then Carter’s ghost cousin Trip appears and asks Libby for help breaking a curse that has been haunting Carter’s family. As they work together to get to the bottom of the dark magic, things between Libby and Trip start getting a lot more complicated. 👀

The tension and mystery surrounding the curse had me hooked. There was just the right balance of humor, jealousy, and yearning, and I loved watching Libby and Trip’s relationship unfold.

If you like light-hearted supernatural mystery, plenty of banter, and just a touch of spice, you’ll want this one on your TBR. 👻💘
