10 years ago I did something that at one time seemed so unreachable…. I defied the odds of being from a broken then parentless home…. From being a survivor of rape and domestic violence…I broke through barriers of being from an HBCU and so many other stigmas to ascend to the highest level of competition in track and field! Doing the same thing. Playing it safe. Staying comfortable.

That’ll get you the same result.

Getting better means asking your body to do something it hasn’t done before. Take the chance. Push the edge. Find out what you’re capable of.

And I’m grateful to have the best coaching staff in the state with @612blitz pushing me, challenging me, and believing in what’s possible.

Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone.

I don’t know why this post was so hard to write.

I think it’s because I’ve outlived you, and somehow that still feels surreal.

August 10th, would have been your birthday. You would have been 71 years old. I keep doing the math in my head, trying to imagine you at 71, and then I remember that I never got to know you at 44, 50, 60, or any of the years that came after.

You were only 43 when you were taken from this world.

I was just a girl. A child. Just 15.

And somehow, I’m now older than you ever got to be.

There are so many things I wish I could tell you. So many moments I wish I could call you about. So many versions of myself I wish you could have met. I wish you could see the woman I became. I wish you could see the life I built. I wish you could know the people I love and the people who love me.

I wish you were here.

I miss you in ways that are hard to explain because time has not made me miss you less. It has just given me more life to experience without you in it.

And more than anything, I’m just sad.

Sad that you’re not here. Sad that I can’t hear your voice. Sad that I can’t hug you. Sad that I have spent more years without you than I ever got to spend with you.

But I’m also incredibly grateful.

Grateful that I got to be your daughter. Grateful for every memory, every lesson, every piece of you that somehow made its way into me.

Happy birthday, Mom.

I hope somehow, somewhere, you know how deeply you are still loved.

Funny how the thing you spend years running from can end up being exactly where you’re supposed to be.

My husband @jasperhitman54 has been telling me for YEARS that I should coach.
I kept saying no.
I kept running.
I kept finding reasons why it wasn’t for me.

Until I finally realized…

Maybe I wasn’t being asked to coach. Maybe I was being called to it.

So I took the leap.

Now I’m officially part of the @612blitz coaching staff as a Speed & Movement Coach. ⚡️

And baby… we’re just getting started.

Let’s bring Minnesota football to the forefront.
Let’s develop these athletes.

Happy Birthday to the love of my life… my home.

You are the safest place I’ve ever known. The way you love me has reached places in my heart I never knew could heal. You didn’t just become my husband. You became my peace. My protector. My best friend. My greatest blessing.

I see you. I see the man who quietly carries so much for the people he loves. The father who makes our family feel safe. The coach who pours his heart into his boys because you genuinely want them to become better men. The husband who never lets me question whether I’m loved because you choose me, every single day.

Your loyalty is unwavering. Your heart is unmatched. You love with your whole soul, and everyone fortunate enough to know you is better because of it.

One of the greatest gifts of loving you is watching you continue to grow into the man God created you to be. Every season reveals another side of you to admire, another reason to respect you, another version of you that somehow makes me fall even deeper in love. I never knew it was possible to keep falling for the same person, but with you, I do. Again and again.

You are my whole heart. My family. The most important piece of my puzzle. If I had to do this life a thousand times over, I would find you and choose you every single time. I’d follow you to the ends of the earth because wherever you are is where home will always be.

9U @fadesssfighters went to Green Bay and handled business! 🏆

We finished the weekend 5-0 and brought home the championship. I was honored to be named Tournament MVP, but this was truly a team effort from start to finish.

We faced some ups and downs throughout the weekend, but nobody folded. We stayed together, kept fighting, and found ways to win. Watching everybody step up, trust each other, and grind through every game made this one special. And shout out to the best coach we could ever ask for @jasperhitman54
