Meet the Line-Up Part 2! For the poetry night Poetic Resistance at Boedapest (Pesthuislaan 52, Amsterdam) for @amsterdambangsfestival!

Chaja is a queer theatre maker, writer and philosopher. Their work starts from personal stories, intertwined with critical philosophies. They mostly write about graveyards, grief, the presentness of absence and mental health.

Chessi the sire aka Regilio is a poet, spoken word artist and musician. He probably fell down the rabbit hole and like many of us hit his head on the way down. It’s A mystery how he got here on time but here we are!

Demi van Kuijk is an interdisciplinary maker and educator. Her work explores ways of inviting herself and others to listen closely to everyday surroundings, (collective) memories, and oral stories.

Gaffar draws upon deep vulnerability to tell poetic stories that hit a little too close to home.

Geerten writes texts that could be poems, but could also be the opening or ending monologue of a play about intimacy, love, longing, queerness, loneliness or consent. She prefers art that is vulnerable, and hits you in the gut, over art that is mostly meant to be understood. by @kellymusyoka

Meet the Line-Up for the poetry night Poetic Resistance on October 4th at Boedapest (Pesthuislaan 52, Amsterdam) for @amsterdambangsfestival!

Loebna is a spoken word artist who writes about social themes like identity, discrimination and diaspora. She writes in dutch, english and tarifit and hopes to connect people through her stories.

Meryam writes ‘spoken word’ poetry about social issues and personal dilemmas.

Dominique Biermann is navigating through expression.

Ragna Moen tries to find words for everything that needs washing, that needs draining or just the banality of continuing the trouble.

Amber M. Arif is a spoken-word artist and poet from The Hague. She writes about, among other things, the stories we tell ourselves and the stories told about us; the things we cannot see but wish to understand; and how, despite everything, we remain inextricably connected to the people, stories, and histories around us.

Kelly Musyoka is a poet who writes about political themes such as identity, queerness, and intersectionality. She uses personal stories to connect with the audience and raise questions that critique society. by @kellymusyoka

Come to our poetry night at Boedapest (Pesthuislaan 52) on the 4th of October for @amsterdambangsfestival

Poetic Resistance is a poetry night dedicated to resistance. We ask performers to answer the question: “What are we fighting for?”. We invite them to share poetry on what the world will look like when we’re done fighting and our resistance was successful. Texts shared will be mostly in Dutch, some in English (and maybe other languages will pop up as well, who knows 💜)

Entrance is donation based and all proceeds go to Palestine and Lebanon. For this, there will be a QR code available, but for the bar it’s CASH ONLY!

Ps Bangs is cool, check out more of their program here: https://amsterdambangs.nl/bangs-2026-programme/ by @kellymusyoka

[WORKSHOP IS FULL] On Friday October 16, join a beginner poetry class given by Hasan Gök at The Hang-Out 070. Together we will explore, give each other space and create a space where we can write safely and vulnerably, as well as share our texts. Through various individual and group exercises, I would like to stimulate your senses and challenge you to think differently about your word usage. Additionally, we will create a moment of performance together and share our texts out loud. I want to inspire and encourage you to be fully yourself, to write your text bravely and freely, and to connect with one another as a group. If you leave the workshop with a little more self-confidence, a lingering feeling, a pile of words, or a satisfied smile, then the gathering has been a success for me.

This event is only for queer people. Moreover, THO is a space that centres QTBPOC, so keep this in mind and be mindful of the space you occupy.

Admission is free, but signing up is required and can be done through the link in bio.

The location of the venue will be shared after registration. THO is a safe space, in order to keep it that way, we ask you not to share the location with others.

The venue and workshop are wheelchair accessible. The class will be taught in English.

There is a maximum of 10 participants. If you signed up and can no longer make it, please contact thodenhaag@gmail.com. Thanks in advance. by @kellymusyoka

De Haagse Stadspartij is er klaar mee!

Boodschappen zijn niet te betalen.
Het OV wordt elk kwartaal duurder.
De huren gaan door het dak.
Racisme blijft ongestraft.
