Every overnight success I’ve scrolled past had a lot of nights I never saw.

Some days the work feels invisible. Do it anyway. Control the work, and let go of the timeline.

Thank you @jessijeanhome , @the.jessicacarter and @itsmegkilgore for going first and showing the rest of us what’s possible.

I was today years old when I found out my CapCut captions don’t all have to match.

I used to fix them one caption at a time. Every font, every size, every spot on the screen. Then I’d change one and watch the whole reel change with it.

The fix was one little checkbox. Untick “Apply to all main captions” and that caption is on its own.

The other three are in the video:
Split a sentence that’s too long.
Change just one word.
Highlight the words you want people to feel.

Save this for the next time you’re editing at 10pm and wondering why it’s taking so long.

Which one did you already know? Tell me in the comments. by @kellynkolgen

A 3% raise, if you get one, in a year when everything costs more. I stopped expecting one paycheck to carry all of it.

So building one more income stream next to a 9 to 5 is a must. Even tho after 40+ hours a week it should not be.
What would one more option change for you? by @kellynkolgen

No, childless David. We do not have the same 24 hours.

Mine come pre-booked. Breakfast, school run, out the door, coffee as a food group.

So when a text came in on a Tuesday afternoon that said Bruno Mars, SoFi, tonight, I was in.

Total of Four moms made it out. Same day. Nobody planned it weeks ahead. Which is unheard of.

Halloween party season is officially rolling in. More water and an actual workout are on the list for this week. We’ll see.

Millennial Math: the promotion.
We were handed one equation. Work hard, climb, get promoted, life changes.
The promotion still matters. It just stopped being the whole answer. The reward and the sacrifice drifted apart, and at the same time the internet quietly opened a few side doors.
Maybe the promotion isn’t the finish line. Maybe it’s one option on a longer list.
I’m still figuring out where I land on this one.
Did the tradeoff change, or did we? Tell me in the comments. by @kellynkolgen

Everyone has an opinion about @itsmegkilgore’s AI editing tool. Most of them are about AI stealing the editing glory.

I’m more interested in the middle. The part where AI opens a door for people who were already doing the work, and the part where we still have to decide what we make once we walk through it.
So which camp are you in? Comment 1, 2 or 3. I’ll read every one.
@itsmegkilgore you know I am so proud of you. You over delivered and deserve all the success. by @kellynkolgen
