A very special tutti tale 🥰

When @jasmindobson booked her stay at TGI neither of us had any idea we already shared a special connection with each other....

Mr. tutti @kellyservinski is participating in this years #tourdivide bikepacking race as a personal challenge and also to raise donations to a fallen friends memorial scholarship @thompsonriversu in Kamloops in the @truadventurestudies program. His name was Mike Farrow and Kelly treeplanted with him back in the early 2000's before his tragic accident climbing in the Rockies. The scholarship is awarded to a new student in the program each year and carries on Mike's legacy.

We put out a story on IG a few weeks ago about the race and the fundraising for the scholarship and had a bunch of nice messages and kind donations come in along with a very special message from our upcoming guest Jasmin...

Jasmin blew our minds with her reply that she was a classmate of Mikes in the program and they were very close friends 🤯All of this came as a wonderful surprise to all of us! What a small workd?! During Jasmin's stay at TGI we shared our personal stories of spending time with Mike and connected the dots with other friends we both knew through Mike. The world immediately became smaller in a better way.

One of the biggest things we love about #tuttigravelinn is that over the last 7 seasons it has brought many people together through pedalling bikes and created some positive vibes.

This time we were the ones receiving the gift.

🙌 Special day @thompsonriversu tying in some fundraising with my participation in the #tourdivide bikepacking race coming up in June.

We connected with some of the staff involved in the @truadventurestudies program that our friend Mike Farrow was a student in working on his certification as a mountain guide. Mike passed away climbing in the Rockies more than 20 years ago but we think of him often, the fun we had together treeplanting in the bush and the legacy he left at the school.

With me taking on the Tour Divide I got to thinking about Mike while on a long training ride this winter in Arizona. How lucky I felt to be still kicking at 53years young and doing what I love to do - pedal my bike.
I wanted to bring Mike along on the adventure and not make the TD all about me. I felt it would be a good time to once again honor our friend through my ride and donate to his memorial scholarship at TRU that is given to a new student each year in his program. It's an expensive endeavour for these students to afford all the gear and put in the training to hone their skills. To me guides play such a huge role in our society connecting people with nature through safe adventures in the backcountry.

The last time we had done something like this was in 2005 when I raced TransAlp, TransRockies and LaRuta in Costa Rica and tied some fundraising to my results for Mike's scholarship to help be a part of getting it going (thanks to everyone who supported it back then you know who you are)!!!!

About the award:
Awarded to a 2nd year student who is pursuing a diploma in the Adventure Tourism program and who has the following qualities: leadership, initiative and is a team player. Since first awarded in 2006, this award has helped 20 Adventure Studies students

Year #7 for #tuttigravelinn 🤯

Beautiful spring day here checking conditions for this years #cariboogravelrush on the May long weekend in support of the @bcspca . We will be doing a different route again this year. Hope to see y'all there!

Mr.tutti aka @kellyservinski is training hard and is getting a few weeks off work at TGI (thx to Mrs. tutti 🥰)in June to do the #tourdivide 2026 Grand Depart from Banff to Antelope Wells, NM.
