🎉August was all about “new” - school year, teachers, classmates, teams, schedules and bus to HS for Beckett!

⚽ Big wins for the girls! Beckett made the middle school coed soccer team, and Blake’s Strive team won its first tournament! Beckett’s new club team came together for two tournaments and learned a lot while having fun!

❤️ And all the moments in between: celebrating Austin’s birthday, family movie night, a spa day with Mon, book club, nails, Topgolf for Beckett’s team, and Dave and Buster’s with Blake’s crew.

In July ☀️❤️ the girls headed to Camp High Harbour — Blake for a week and Beckett for two! 🏕️ Watching them happily head off, thrive on their own and come home full of stories was amazing!

Soccer still found us, of course 😂⚽️. We spent four days in Charlotte for Beckett’s ODP Region Training Camp. I loved making it a girls trip — celebrating my birthday, shopping, movies, the aquarium and watching Beckett play. Later in the month we survived a crazy week of team camps - 2 a day for Beckett and 1 for Blake!

We filled the rest of July with family time at the lake for the Fourth of July, movie nights, time with my mom, out with Chanel to meet Emily Giffin, and lots of ordinary summer days together. We also gathered to celebrate Vivian’s life. ❤️ by @kellyshawmartin

June ☀️❤️ We squeezed SO much into those 30 days! Soccer kept us busy (of course! 😂⚽️). Beckett played 12 games between RL, ODP and futsal, including a five-night playoff trip to NC. Blake tried futsal, loved Strive camp and celebrated her dojo graduation!

Swim season wrapped up with four meets, Fun Fridays and championships. 🏊‍♀️ Bittersweet to give my final banquet speech and step down as parent rep after years of wonderful memories, friendships and community. 🐊❤️

Outside of sports, summer was everything I’d hoped—family time, a Braves game, World Cup soccer, birthdays, visits with family, sleepovers, movies, library trips, rock climbing, baking, forts and a revolving door of friends filling our house with laughter. ☀️

May somehow felt both incredibly full and over in a flash.

There were big soccer wins:
⚽ Beckett allowed just one goal at her final 3-day showcase in SC.
🙌🏻 Blake finished the season as a finalist with Red and a champion with Premier.
🏆 And there were tough moments too: some soccer chapters ended before we were ready. But resilience grew right alongside us. And then there were all the moments in between…
🤍 Family time at the lake over Memorial Day.
🏊‍♀️ The start of swim season, our first home meet, and Fun Friday celebrations.
📖 Library trips—Blake’s love of reading is on fire.
🚗 Our last soccer carpools after months of games and “story time.”
🎶 Mother’s Day weekend in SC with Beckett…lots of ’90s songs!
🚌 Last-day-of-school Starbucks and shenanigans.
🎉 Cousin time, game nights, birthday parties, Splash Night, field day, pool parties, and so many afternoons with friends filling our house with laughter, forts, baking, and chaos.
✌️ Looking back, May was full of growth, friendship, family, and a whole lot to be grateful for. Here’s to remembering that the ordinary days often end up meaning the most. 🌿💛 by @kellyshawmartin

Just realized I never posted an April roundup - that says a lot about these last two months. 🤪 April gave us a fun Easter with Gigi, Aunt Devon, Uncle Z and cousin Dane in Athens. 🐣 We also had a chill spring break while Blake had soccer camp and Becks had team training before a weekend in Alabama to visit Mimi and Poppa and play a game! 💕🧤We enjoyed shopping with Mimi, having dinners with friends, getting to a couple of movies, having play dates, seeing our girls each play in 4 games, and getting to church more regularly! 🎥 🥘 ⚽️ by @kellyshawmartin

March was a special month - our Blake turned 9! 🎈Blake enjoyed trying a new ninja place, having fun with her friends at training, playing several soccer games, graduating to yellow advanced at karate, enjoying a sleepover in Blue Ridge, and puzzling! 🥷 ⚽️ 🥋🧩Beckett had 9 games including one in Orlando, 2 in SC and 3 in VA - she also got to guest play for two teams! ✈️ 🧤 🥅 She enjoyed two fun team weekends away, getting to meet my friend Em again and her daughter Scotland, and having fun with friends. 💕 So grateful for this packed month, for getting to see our girls do their favorite things, for getting to see two of my longtime friends, and for our family time together. 💖 by @kellyshawmartin

February was short but fun-filled! Beckett turned 13 🎈, played in 2 tournaments 🧤, visited Orlando with her ODP team 🏖️ , was selected to represent her school at Linguapooloza 🇪🇸, and received an award from her ELA teacher! ⭐️ Blake got glasses 👓 , played in a soccer tourney ⚽️,made it to the finals in basketball playoffs 🥈 , celebrated Evie’s birthday ice skating ⛸️, earned the “game changer award” on her basketball team 🏀, and visited Gigi in Athens! ❤️ These girls had a banner month - lots of family time, time with friends, puzzles (we did our first 1,000!), books, slushies, and Mario Cart. 🎮 by @kellyshawmartin

This January demanded “cozy” - so many weekend plans were cancelled due to weather! 🥶 We ended up with lots of extra time at home puzzling, playing games, making slushies, reading and hanging out. 🧩 🎲 📕 When we weren’t at home we got in two futsal tournament weekends (one in Nashville and one at Lakepoint), lots of sparring, basketball and gymnastics for Blake, lots of keeper training and futsal sessions for Beckett, and time with friends and even a comedy night out for me and Austin! 🧤 ⚽️ 🥊 🤸 🏀 🎤 We also welcomed our third nephew to the family, and later got a second January miracle: a snow day! 💙 ❄️ by @kellyshawmartin

Loved our chill November. ❤️ We decorated early and had lots of cozy days at home watching movies/Auburn 🏀 /NWSL games, puzzling and playing games. Blake had fun starting basketball, Nadine camp, Santa pics with friends, her sparring tryout, playing in the UFA tourney, and at her school’s Thanksgiving feast, explorer event and field trip. ❤️ Beckett enjoyed a trip to TN for a two soccer games, her ODP practice, futsal with ODP night, shopping in Birmingham, taking reformer classes and supporting sis at soccer along with other big sibs! ❤️ I loved book club, tennis, dinners and nails with friends. ❤️ We all enjoyed taking our holiday pics, our visit to Birmingham, dinner out with Mimi and Poppa, and a visit to the mountains - such great family and friend time to wrap up November! ❤️ by @kellyshawmartin

October was absolutely packed! ⚽️ 🎃 🎾 🏖️ 📕 🚙 🥋 🎶 🎈 It gave us big trips like fall break at the beach and a few nights in Wilmington for Beckett’s showcase, as well as special events - Audie’s, Madison’s, Emma’s and Romy’s birthday parties, and the 7th grade dance, dojo graduation, Blake’s Hats musical, walk to school day, Taste of New Prospect, 7T Anniversary, and basketball evals. 🧡 I loved having my mom and her pups visit, and seeing the girls play soccer, enjoy the beach, and celebrate their friends and family - and Halloween is always so fun - carving pumpkins, costumes, all the fun that goes with it! 🧡 I also loved wrapping up Fall Alta, book club, and dinners with friends. It was 31 days of jam-packed fun and now it’s time for a restful November. 🧡 by @kellyshawmartin
