Kelly’s Roast Beef is a staple to the North Shore. It’s legendary. They started the North Shore Beef. Today the north shore beef has a cult following of crazy people from all over the north east side of the state. The funny thing is, the original owners created this sandwich by accident when a wedding was canceled and they had already made a few roast beef’s for it. They decided to slice it thin, throw em on a grilled bun and sell them. Kelly’s has always been a north shore favorite for the beef & seafood, it’s a tourist destination, it’s been mentioned in movies like Good Will Hunting. It’s iconic. But over the years it has started going downhill. They started to expand too quickly, food quality went down. People just don’t like it like they used to.

But as of last year, David Masse and his company bought Kelly’s with the intentions of bringing it back to its glory days. People have been skeptical about a private equity firm taking it over, I was one of them. But David has pure intentions. David is a north shore boy himself who grew up off Kelly’s. He wants to see our beloved Kelly’s shine once again. It’s not going to happen overnight but they have began turning things around. From renovating the shack, changing food items, changing the cut of beef. Within time, I think Kelly’s will be great once again. Hang in there folks!!! Kelly’s isn’t dead just yet.
