Up today for Team Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 we have Susan Gray @soozg23 and John Kelly @kellywears_it

Mixed Doubles: 60-64

Qualified: London Excel

Susan trains at eeVo Training @eevotraining and John trains at The Madhouse - @themadhousefit .

Anything else you’d like us to know?
We’ve never trained together and only raced in mixed doubles for the first time at London Excel. We were using London as a run out to trial strategies before we raced in Cardiff (with the hope of qualifying for the world’s in Cardiff). However, we were totally surprised and shocked to smash out 1:10:51 in London which got us our qualification slot for Stockholm.

Motto: keep on keeping on

All the best in Stockholm 🇸🇪

I compete in Doubles Pro and mixed doubles.

I’m 61 years young.

In doubles I race with my partner (43), we compete in age group 50-55.

In mixed my partner is 60, we compete AG 60-64.
6 podiums so far including 2 first places.

At the Worlds in Chicago we raced Pro 50-55, we were top 15, I was 61.

In mixed we currently hold 3rd fastest recorded time for our AG in the World.

I race in Stockholm in June at the Worlds, Pro doubles on the Saturday then mixed on Sunday. We’re competing, not completing.

HYROX now tell me and all the other over 60’s that we can’t race PRO anymore. No, no dialogue, no explanation.

I can compete in any Marathon I wish to, I can do an Ultra, an Ironman….
No other sport stops the over 60’s from competing.
HYROX do…….WHY?
Why can’t an over 60’s athlete race pro?

Hyrox Verona ✅ Two years of training and hard work resulting in a first ever podium place (3rd place) and another new PB.

Such an incredible (and tough) experience made even more special by sharing it with a great friend @kellywears_it taken in Verona, Italy by @kellywears_it
