I’m convinced every girls’ group has the same five characters. Which one are you? 👀 by @kelschapman

Just two small-town boys who stayed best friends through every phase of life and somehow ended up becoming dads a week apart.

When we found out Jackson and Ford were due around the same time, we were irrationally excited. And since we already had a family wedding on the calendar, we were determined to get them together as soon as possible.

So this was them meeting at 3 and 11 days old.

Their dads have never let 5 hours, different states, busy seasons, jobs, marriages, or kids get in the way of their friendship, and I have a feeling these boys are going to follow their lead.

Grateful for the kind of friends who become family. ❤️

Obsessed with @brie_matthews new collection with @saranoniblanket ✨The gingham, the stripes, THE BUMBLE BEES! I love it all and more than anything we love seeing our girl create with one of our fave brands (I literally give their baby blankets to everyone!!!) by @kelschapman

Between figuring out what to serve and wondering whether anyone will actually eat it, mealtime already requires enough brainpower. 😂

Our kids already use Ahimsa, so partnering with @ahimsahomeusa felt like such a natural fit. Their pediatrician-designed stainless steel dishes are one of those simple swaps I’m happy to have made for our table.

We have the silver Mindful Mealtime Bundle, and if you’ve been looking for stainless steel dishes for your littles, these are worth a look. 🤍 by @kelschapman

Everything I’ve typed seems trite when I try to find the words to describe how lucky I feel to be his mama. We experienced loss after loss when trying to begin our family, but once I met Jackson I knew it was ALWAYS him. He was meant to be the first baby I’d hold earthside. Life is sweeter because he is in it and I truly am the luckiest 🤍 by @kelschapman

My Grandy went to Heaven this week.

And I think I’ve been dreading this day for most of my life.

I’ve always had this ache for the people I love most.

Even as a little girl, I could love someone so much that I would almost preemptively miss them while they were still here.

And Grandy has always been one of those people for me.

For years, I’ve wondered:

How will my world ever exist without Grandy in it?

How will ordinary life keep going without his presence woven through it?

His hair had been white for as long as I can remember.

But over the last few years, somehow it started looking a little crisper.

A quiet reminder that time was moving.

And I knew I needed to soak it up.

These were the golden years with Grandy, and I didn’t want to miss them.

I wanted the ordinary days.
The visits.
The pictures.
The memories.

More than anything, I just wanted the time.

And I got it.

My three-year-old got to know and adore his Grandy.

My five-month-old got to be held in his arms.

My Grandy holding my babies.

What a gift.

For 36 years, I got to live in a world with Grandy in it.

I got his steadiness and generosity.
His gardens and projects.
His grace and unconditional love.

I got to watch him love my Grannie.

I got to be his granddaughter.

And now I’m face to face with the ache I’ve spent so many years dreading.

Of course I ache.

How could I not?

Because the ache is only here because something really beautiful was here first.

So maybe the ache will be our meeting place now.

Maybe when I feel it, I’ll let it remind me that I got to love him.

That I was loved by him.

That I got 36 years with my Grandy woven into the ordinary parts of my life.

What an incredible gift it is to have loved someone enough to miss him this much.

Until I see you again, Grandy.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be your granddaughter. 🤍 by @kelschapman

If you lead a ministry, or really, any impact-driven team, can we all tuck this little reminder away:

The people closest to the mission should never be sacrificed for the sake of its impact. 🤍 by @kelschapman

Don’t blink! 18 summers left mama! Y’all, THE PRESSURE!

Maybe the problem isn’t “18 summers” or “90s summer.”

Maybe it’s that every well-meaning trend slowly turns into another standard moms feel like they have to live up to.

If you’re looking for a little less pressure, you’re in the right place.
