🪽One year without my Sammy & it still doesn’t feel real. I miss him every second of every day. Samson Wyatt was and will always be unconditional love incarnate. How lucky am I 🤍 taken in St. Louis Hills by @kelsconrad.pdf

on April 15th, I lost my papa.
🤍
I could write a novel about how amazing he was—but one thing I’ve realized while saying goodbye to the man that raised me, is that living a simple life can also be an extraordinary one.
•
my papa was the kindest, mushiest, steadfast, loving, stubborn butthead on the planet. he led by example. he loved through his actions. and when it mattered most, he not only showed up but was the first one there to cheer you on. I say this with my whole chest—the world needs more Roy Lee Conrads. It would be a much more loving & peaceful place… filled with Rifleman re-runs and the Green Beret & Yellowstone playing on loop.
•
I have his freckled shoulders. Maybe a touch of his stubborn side (we’re both capricorns). I hope I get his non-wrinkly gene. And some days I can see the same twinkle he had in his eyes, in mine.
•
I am forever grateful that RLC was my rock and birthday buddy for 33 years. He’s always been the calm in any storm. But that twinkle and quiet giggle of his I will miss the most.
🤍
Someday, I’ll meet him in a coastal Florida hotel pool and make him play mermaids with me again.
