5 years ago, I got the unexpected opportunity to coach my step-sister for her 8th grade volleyball season. something that I feared would be awkward and unusual turned into one of the greatest blessings in my life. since that first year, we have played lots of volleyball together, eaten many meals together, shared many inside jokes together, but most importantly, we have become actual sisters together. i’m not ready to show up to a volleyball practice without her there, but I’m so excited that we will share holidays, birthdays, and every other important life moment together. i love you forever, sawyer. i’ve been honored to be your coach, but I’m blessed and grateful to be your sister 🫶🏻 by @kelseyharrelll

a two for one special: it’s my sisters birthday AND she was crowned hoco queen last night 🥹 so proud of this queenie!! can’t believe the little 13 year old that came into my life and made me a big sis is now 18 👯‍♀️🩷🧁 hbd @sawyer.holt by @kelseyharrelll

there is not a collection of words that could form sentences worthy enough to describe my admiration for this team. the heart, determination, and grit they showed this season, especially at the end, truly has me at a loss of words.

the honor and glory they showed the Lord during the season was the most amazing part to watch. this team will go down as one the best gca volleyball teams, not for their skill and accomplishments alone but for their commitment to each other and their goals.

they were the 8 seed nobody wanted that conquered the 1 seed and the 4 seed to get to the biggest stage. they truly bought into the we>me mentality and battled through 500 different rotations and position changes. they worked hard, loved one another harder, and praised God through it all.

the ending wasn’t what I wanted for them and they deserve to be champs. however, state runner-up is a title to be proud of, and I’m honored to have been along for their journey. by @kelseyharrelll
