We’re homeschooling!!!! ✏️📚 And we officially made it through quarter one!! I decided not to share right away because I really wanted to focus on my family and settle into this new rhythm first. Every day, I feel like we’re making progress, and I’m so grateful for that. If you’d asked me a few years ago if I’d ever homeschool our kids, I probably would’ve laughed and said, “I could never do that.” Never say never, right?! 😂 But over the last couple of years, I’ve felt God stirring this up in my heart, and I couldn’t shake it. This wasn’t a quick decision. It came after months of conversations, prayer, research, asking questions, second-guessing ourselves, and wondering if I was really capable of doing this. For us, homeschooling means running toward: • A slower schedule • A “meet you where you’re at” pace • Building a stronger family culture • More time to learn life skills • More space to grow in our faith together • The freedom to go and travel when we can Our kids have had wonderful teachers, and we’re grateful for every one of them. We believe God leads families in different ways. For us, this is simply the direction we feel He’s leading us in this season. How long? We’re not sure. We’re taking it year by year—or should I say, day by day?! 😂 I can’t believe I have a 7th grader, two 4th graders, and one in Pre-K! Life lately ❤️ our kids had been begging to attend a chiefs game 🏈 so we made it a priority this year to attend the 3rd preseason game! I felt so giddy & full of excitement spending this last week where I grew up & doing things I did as a kid 🥹 Since being back in Kansas we have spent the last 3 summers going back to MY mom’s hometown of Pretty Prairie to attend the Rodeo - which is the largest night rodeo in Kansas! 🤠 My Aunt Anita still rides in the grand opening and we always sneak away to let the kids sit on her horse, Quarter Bet! Last year June made the TOP 10 in mutton bustin’ — with a score of 90/100! And got to perform in the rodeo 🙌🏼 and this year she shared her dreams of one day competing in barrel racing. How does a city girl make that happen? I’m up for your ideas 🤪😂 We also made it to the Cosmosphere! If you’re ever near Hutchinson, Kansas, the Cosmosphere is absolutely worth the stop! 🚀 We used to take field trips here when I was in grade school, and it was so much fun getting to bring our kids back to experience it. The Cosmosphere is home to one of the world’s largest collections of U.S. and Russian space artifacts, including the actual Apollo 13 command module. We explored Dr. Goddard’s Lab, watched the T. Rex documentary, and finished the day in the planetarium learning all about space and the constellations. It was such a fun and educational day for everyone that we spent the next few nights watching Apollo 13 together! Ended the trip with a sun filled day at the Prairie Dunes Country Club pool & enjoyed lunch there as well! It’s always so fun back in my hometown of Hutchinson & spending quality time with my mom… I don’t think we went to bed before midnight - her & I just talking! It truly was the best trip!! Okay…I had to do a Part 2 because these pieces are just too good not to. 😂 When I first shared these, I realized I didn’t even show my favorite part…you can mix and match everything! So instead of feeling like you’re buying two outfits, you’re really getting several different looks just by swapping the tops and bottoms around. I love pieces that work harder for me. And can we talk about the little details? Because they’re the things that actually matter. 🙌 The bra has sewn-in pads…which means no more trying to shove those little pads back through a tiny hole after laundry. Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s over that. 😂 🙌 The shorts have built-in coverage, so you can literally throw them on and go. 🙌 Pockets that actually fit your phone (because where else are we supposed to put it while chasing kids, running errands, or going for a walk?). I also love that this brand was created by a mom of four. You can tell she actually gets it. We want clothes that are cute, modest, comfortable, and can take us from a workout to Target to practice pickup without needing to change.
