2018. 8 summers with you. 8 has always been my favorite number. (partially because of an early, odd obsession with dale earnhardt and partially because if you turn it sideways it’s the infinity symbol #tumblr) growing next to you with the changes of the seasons, as we become who we are through brute force, you’ve strengthened our roots, keeping me grounded. i’ve always admired your desire to learn and adapt, like the crows and the trees that line the path along our journey. a lover, a partner, a best friend. you are who you say you are. 🐝 by @kelsiewells

@goodiessnackshop is a specialty snack shop with many different treats, snacks, skincare, merch, sauces, tea and more! Locally owned and operated in beautiful NW Portland.

As you can see it is very walkable (despite what people who don’t live here have to say)!

A fun stop when visiting the Lan Su Chinese Garden, Ground Kontrol Arcade and Bar. Portland is wet and open for business!

Also accessible by public transit, or street parking is available.

bye june. what a sublime month permeated with chilled waters and wordy voice notes. doused in sunbeams and moon slivers, the pnw summer welcomed me with open arms and wind gusts that kept me afloat. through layers of dust and dirt, covered in soot but refreshed from swirling eastern air and misty coastal mornings. maybe it is the people you meet on the way, or the iced lattes or maybe the motorcycle rides and head first deep dives into reservoir waters. or maybe it’s the birds that fly, or the boats that float, or the wheels on the ground, or the lime slices and sticky watermelon hands. strangers with stories.. whatever it is, this is it. by @kelsiewells

highly recommend @cottacart !! but maybe ride something with wheels if you’re coming from downtown, cause that vertical incline is something else at 8am with no caffeine 😅 also, the bird sounds at the end are magical ✨🦋☕️ by @kelsiewells

The Great PNW Summer

A summer coated in sticky sweat with sand and ash stuck in all its cracks, where the light still shines through. Endless days and glowing nights, summer drifted through rivers that brought me to sea. A hard goodbye, kind of like your best friend returning home. An airport ride, a long hug. Safe travels, I love you. See you soon, changed by time and in new light. Knowing you’re better with her around, her warmth replaced with long sleeves and space heaters. September reveals itself as an unreliable narrator, offering an Irish goodbye or nothing at all. A summer mourning, grateful for her slow arrival, but whiplashed from her quick departure. A bitter farewell for my sweet friend. taken in Oregon by @kelsiewells
