China was a dream 🇨🇳

Its been 31 years since I was adopted, and 20 years since I last visited. I had an absolutely magical time with the perfect travel companions. We ate our way through 6 cities in 15 days. I got to visit both the orphanage where I was adopted from, and the city that I was originally found in. We went on food tours, saw shows, dressed up in hanfus, went shopping, drank tea, and visited famous monuments. It was a whirlwind of 2 weeks, but we made the most of it and had a blast.

A very special trip and a very special experience ❤️ taken in China by @kelsoy17

Dear Little Girl in the Front Row,

We saw you. We saw your hands on your cheeks, your jaw dropped in awe, your eyes sparkling with wonder. ✨From the stage, your joy for every dance was blinding - and it lit us up in ways you may never know. You reminded us of our younger self.

We were just like you once - wide-eyed, obsessed, and dreaming big. Somewhere along the way, life got busy. But we kept dancing. We found each other. We found this stage. And now, we get to keep living that little-girl dream as grown-ups with full hearts, glittery costumes, and aching feet.

Your excitement cheered us on more than you realize. You are the future, and we are proof that the dream doesn’t have to fade - it just grows up with you.

So keep dancing. Keep dreaming. We’ll be saving a spot in the spotlight for you.

DWNYC love,
your future self 💫

A little late, but I'm still struggling to put into words what last Saturday meant to me.

After months of hard work, my first ever piece, Particles of the Universe, hit the stage with this incredible cast of stars. I couldn't have done it without this group of amazing, hard-working humans. I have cherished spending the last 4 months of Sunday evenings together. Thank you for bringing my vision to life in the most perfect way 🫶

Thank you to everyone who came to support me and see the show. I am so unbelievably lucky to have so many friends that took the time to come and watch the culmination of my work. The love I receive is far more than any one human deserves. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️

And thank you to Danceworks and the rest of my choreographers who made this day extra special by allowing me to help bring their works to life as well. A truly unforgettable lineup of dances, what an incredible season 🥹
