Feeling incredibly grateful for my immersion in the recent workshop at @atyp_theatre in Walsh Bay with the one and only Ivana Chubbuck.
My introduction to The Power of the Actor from the incredible @eriqlasalle led to a year of weekly on-line classes with the LA-based @ivanachubbuckstudio To then have the opportunity to spend four days working with Ivana herself, here in Sydney, was a wonderful next step in that journey.
Four demanding, generous and deeply rewarding days — exploring the work, challenging myself and learning alongside a terrific group of actors - shout out to @the.emma.monk ⭐️ who brought so much openness and commitment to the room.
Thank you to @acting.mastery and @actorsroombyronbay for making the workshop possible, and to @createdbyannahempstead for capturing these moments so beautifully.
Always more to learn, and very grateful to be continuing the work. Go for your goals …..no matter your AGE or STAGE in life. ❤️ @suziesteenmgmt #sydneyactor @ivanachubbuckstudio #chubbucktechnique by @keltie_lane

Years as a TV producer taught me to think about everything that needs to happen behind the camera - location recces, logistics, and with this scene, calling the local police ahead of time to alert them that a DV situation was not taking place - filming a heated argument would be. 🥹🎬

Those producer skills are really useful now as an actor - but this scene was a good reminder that once the camera rolls, I need to take that hat right off. Being completely in the moment, hearing for the first time that my husband had been having an affair. No thinking about location restrictions, schedules, catering, release forms, just listening, reacting and letting the moment land. Huge thanks to brilliant fellow actor @anthonythomasetc for jumping into this one with me, and to my friend @nick_fiennes for letting us take over his kitchen for the afternoon. And a shout out to the remarkable @aryavision_pictures 🙌🏽#sydneyactor #actorlife #tvproducers @ivanachubbuckstudio #chubbucktechnique by @keltie_lane

In 2002 I was lucky enough to not only meet Dolly, but as Associate Producer on UK TV talk show, The Frank Skinner Show, I pre-interviewed her in person. We always had budget to buy our guests gifts and as a major Dolly fan I spent hours wandering around Covent Garden looking for the perfect one. I landed on a beautiful butterfly hair ornament. She loved it. ❤️ As a big fan, she was one celebrity I was thrilled to meet. I remember chatting away in her dressing room and she seemed just as genuinely interested in me as I was her. That’s rare. She didn’t arrive with an entourage, touched up her own makeup as we talked and was as sharp as they come. ✨❤️✨ @frankontheradio #dollyparton @clydo @justangayoga @jackarama1 @tismeleese by @keltie_lane

A very proud mum moment. ❤️

Our Billie has been appointed SUO — the highest-ranking student cadet leadership position within her school’s Cadet Unit of 430 cadets.

Cadets has given her so much over the years — from leadership opportunities to military, navigation, drill and survival skills, building resilience, teamwork and, most importantly, some wonderful friendships and experiences.

It’s a lovely full-circle moment for someone who loved getting grubby outdoors and eating food out of cans! 😂

There’s a lot of work and responsibility ahead, and it’ll be wonderful to watch her grow along the way.
Very proud of her, and very grateful for the people and experiences that have helped her get here. ❤️ @barkercollegecadetunit @_billie_lane_ by @keltie_lane

A seemingly ordinary domestic moment — a broken fridge — became something much darker in this recent TVC I shot for Salesforce and Fisher & Paykel. 🎬

The challenge was landing that split-second transition from fear and frustration to relief, timed exactly with the lighting change; followed swiftly by the shock of a random sales guy in a sharp suit walking into my kitchen. 😆

Leaning heavily into Chubbuck Technique: #EndowingSpace, #InnerObjects and #Substitution the fridge became my son Charlie, who in my imagined reality was struggling to breathe and needed me to help him urgently. The kitchen became his old, tiny bedroom — a space I could feel closing in around me giving me a sense of urgency and claustrophobia.

Creating an entire emotional world that the audience never sees - all part of this crazy work! 🙃❤️#chubbucktechnique #sydneyactor Thanks to the wonderful @waywardcreative_casting and my agent @suziesteenmgmt by @keltie_lane

Four days. 32 actors. One extraordinary teacher.

Last week I spent four intense, challenging and incredibly rewarding days immersed in an exclusive masterclass with the brilliant Ivana Chubbuck, alongside 32 actors from across Australia — with a theatre full of auditors watching on.

There’s nowhere to hide in a room like that. It was raw, rigorous, confronting at times, and completely exhilarating.

I walked away with so much — not just about technique, but about truth, courage, vulnerability and what it really means to do the work.

Four days I won’t forget. And a whole lot to take into the next scene. 🎭

A massive thanks to @ivanachubbuckstudio @acting.mastery @actorsroombyronbay and my amazing scene partner @the.emma.monk who was the most remarkable person to work with. ❤️
