I never had passion for STEM so while my parents prayed for their daughter to become an engineer or a doctor... I had dreams of becoming a poet. I may not be in the medical field, but poetry is the only way I know how to heal. I hope thats enough to make them proud and I hope even more, that even if it’s in a small way, this piece helps to heal you. This is the ig handle of the beautiful singer who accompanied my peice, her name is Angie: IG: @the.only.angie #spokenpoetry

So posting my poetry scares me more than l’m able to express…but im trying to learn to be stronger than my fear and I’m becoming more comfortable. I am a poet, it is an important part of me and also the part i hide the most. But after much encouragement from friends, family, and strangers alike... l’ve decided to start sharing my craft. Although this performance may not be perfect... hopefully it reaches someone and makes them feel less alone 🤍 Thank you to @sapphs.up for hosting this event and to @pvoices and @pvwhatsnext for helping me find my voice. by @kem.sa
